I am running an older joomla 1.0.13 site with gallery2 installed. I am re-doing the site to joomla 1.5.20 and would like to know if there is a way to port the gallery to the new site and what extensions I need to do it if possible? If not possible I would be interested in what other alternatives would work?

Which Gallery component are you using? I searched JED for 'gallery2' and came up with several listings.

RSgallery2 is no longer available, there was an alpha release for Joomla 1.5 but even that is no longer available.

There are 28 Gallery type extensions listed in the JED

I found a download link for the last version of RS Gallery2 for Joomla 1.5 but there is no support for it and I don't know if it works without Legacy mode.

If it uses the same tables as the old version you may be able to export them and Import them into your Joomla 1.5 site to add you galleries. You would also need to transfer the image files.

Thank You dpacadmin. I am following your last suggestion. The RSGallery2 installed first try in joomla 1.5.20 I will try your suggestion for moving tables and the rsgallery folder which is in the images directory by default when the gallery is installed. I will post back here when I finish the migration. That will be sometime next week as I am on vacation right now.

Yes it worked. I replaced all the gallery2 database tables with the ones from the old site and replaced the images/rsgallery subfolders with the ones from the old site and now gallery2 works in the 1.5.20 site just like it did in the 1.0.13 site....Thanks again....Jim

A Tip: If your original images were very large you can copy the "display" directory and rename it "original" instead of trying to upload gigabytes of images from the "original" directory that you don't need onto the new site.
