1.15.14 to 1.15.21 upgrade, admin menu/modules -white pages
I have upgraded .14 to 21 ...I had issues before ( there was no administrator page) so I re installed administrator patch files and thought everything was fine. Then I noticed admin menu links and all module links do not open p..then lead to white/blank pages.
I've read previous posts,..
I took the [] out of url... makes no difference.
I am on Netfirms hosting.
I contacted Netfirms... they said I should re-load administrator patch files,..I did, FTPed individually..and it did not help.
Netfirms does not offer 1-click upgrade option.
Thanks for any ideas..

Download a full file set of 1.5.21 and then try uploading the administrator folder from it. If that doesn't fix it try the libraries folder and includes folder. Check your FTP log to be sure all files are uploaded and that they overwrote the existing files, also check that you are uploading in Auto mode.

No luck,
I used filezilla, on auto,..I ended up uploading the entire joomla 1.15.21..all the files have todays date...it dont make sense.
I have a backup of site on Akeeba backup...just not sure if it keep same Joomla files.
Netfirms says its a 3rd party issue.
-thanks

You could try installing the Version Verification Tool extension and do its check to see if you have any missing or modified/corrupt files. You could enable the Debug setting in the Global Configuration settings and test to see if it gives any more info. You should set the site offline when doing this. You could also try setting Error Reporting to Maximum(in Global Configuration I think under the System tab) and test.

Unfortunately...no solution..
I tried the debugging features...didnt notice anything abnormal.
I can't install anything because the install button goes to a blank page.

Try running the post assistant on your site and see if it finds anything.
Other then the upgrade had you made any other changes to your site recently?
Check your Apache and php error logs to see if they have any clues.
Does your Host run an outdated version of php4?

Ok.... did not come up with anything...report seems okay...(I can pm url) only thing I didnt do is look at log files,,,can;t seem to access or open.
I've only been uploading items to virtuemart for client. He also wants a menu button taken off and I can't access admin menu's.. or install csv component to upload hundreds of items he wants on.
I upgraded from 1.15.14 to 1.15.21 .... I think that was a mistake.
-thanks for suggestionsI

You can set error reporting and debug in the configuration file, just set the site to
offline"1"
You can set debug
var $debug = '1';
and try the site to see if it give more info.
You can set Error Reporting to max by changing the
var $error_reporting = '-1'
to
var $error_reporting = '6143'
then try the site to see if you get more info.

See if your Host will give you a hand to look at your Apache and php error logs to see if they give any info what the problem is. Could also be a browser problem, try a different browser and try deleting your temp Internet files and any cookies from your site in your browser.
See if you can use this link to get to the Installer so you can install the Version Verification Tool extension, replace mydomain with your site's url

When i get the blank page.. the URL does show.. its identical to the URL in a working website.. so, like the installer URL..it shows up...but its a white page.
I'm really worried now..I tried on demo site of uploading database backup..but it over writes admin log in and I can't log in...not to mention all the store images.
I have akeeba back up..but It doenst work everytime for me.
Ok... I did get the log files, I don't see anything unusual...though I'm no expert.. mostly search engines, store files..

Did you enable ssl security on your site, just noticed this in the log
https://globalindustrial
If so you can disable it in the configuration.php file by setting ssl to "0".
That log was a portion of your Apache log, were there any 404 or 403 errors in it? Did they give you your php error log?
Your 500 error may have a reference in the Apache log or the php log, it might help locating the problem.

Well,..
Netfirms says I dont have access to php log files..He doesn't either,.. only Netfirms system adminstrator has access,..I asked if I could..he said no.
My client actually purchased SSL couple months ago...and it is enabled...but I don't see it on website url....the config file setting is allready turned to 0.
I never seen any error messages in apache logs...everything seems normal..
-thnks

Have you tried restoring the Akeeba backup file, test it in a subfolder with a new database.

If white screen after admin login, try the com_installer URL
dpacadmin's tip is a lifesaver!:
I'd disabled K2 at this website and for some reason this caused my admin app to give a white screen after logging in. I was able to view the back end after using the com_installer URL and re-enable the K2 components until I found the combo that let me log in to the back end again.
Thanks a bunch dpacadmin!!

I've inherited a Joomla 1.5 website that the owner doesn't want to upgrade.See if you can use this link to get to the Installer so you can install the Version Verification Tool extension, replace mydomain with your site's url
