I am sorry if this has been posted/asked before, but I am looking to switch from the Wordpress platform over to Joomla. Is there a way I can retain all my exisiting posts and their post date from wordpress while moving to Joomla. Also, if I would be able to keep my uploads (images)?

You could move your WordPress site to a subfolder and link to it from your Joomla site as a subfolder or sub domain. You could use this extension to load your Wordpress site within your Joomla site keeping the Joomla template's layout and look.

You could use this extension to Import your WP site into Joomla, you would need to install the JomComment extension to keep your comments.

You have some other choices for extensions to use here;
