Is the 1.5.23 to 1.5.26 upgrade package available?
I wanted to upgrade to 1.5.26, but when I checked the available downloads it appears that you can only upgrade 1.5.25 to 1.5.26... or at least those are the only upgrade packages available.
Am I missing something? I can't seem to find the packages for older Joomla versions.

There is a 1.5.0->1.5.26
You are supposed to update each time a new release comes.

The problem with updating immediately a new version has popped out is that you technically can't without it messing up your extensions for Joomla. Many Joomla packages are used together with webshop solutions, and the work adding all the products is far more than the work installing joomla. It would be great if the extension providers could follow Joomla to the dot, but they can't, and then you are stuck waiting for your extension to be upgraded before upgrading Joomla. Reson for the jump between 1.5.23 to 1.5.26 is exactly because of Virtue mart.
Neither Joomla nor Virtue mart manage to keep to a fixed standard for their data, and they are out of sync with one another in regards of updates, so one is usually forced to wait with updating joomla until Virtue mart catches up.

And why can't Joomla have all upgrade packages for all releases in open view

That must be a particular problem with VM. I have not experienced that any of the extensions I use do not work after an update of Joomla. It takes a lot of manpower to make all this patch files.
Install Akeeba Admin Tools to have an easier update.

I Found all the patches needed from direct links in various forums. I still don't know why Joomla can't keep all the patches ready for use. Last time I had an upgrade issue was with exactly Akeeba admin. For some reason it wasn't working properly, and after an update the admin panel in Joomla wouldn't allow login's. Turend out that there was something wrong with Akeeba, and I had to fix it manually.Per Yngve Berg wrote:That must be a particular problem with VM. For these updates I tried using Update manager, but this also failed. I believe that it was an issue with the tmp directory's root path. Darn service providers can't always follow the same standards, or maybe the people who made update manager didn't count in all their variables. One or the other. After A whitch hunt for direct links to upgrades I finally found all, and the updates went within minutes. I still believe Joomla should have all the updates put out in one place as I see there are lots of people searching for them in the forum.

All of the update packages are available here but only if you are registered and logged in;
http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla ... tion=index
After logging in you can click on the Files link in the left menu for a drop down of all the versions.

This helps me. Unfortunately it doesn't help those that don't find this post and know to create an account. But I'm not the one to answer all the requests from people who can't find the update they need. I just get stuck helping friends who don't know the English language as well as I do. LOL

Re: Is the 1.5.23 to 1.5.26 upgrade package available?
As usual I always end up finding the solution for my friends problems in these forums. I've been using joomla for many years. It's a great tool, though some times there are elements that show that the people behind joomla don't always think and understand how the novice do.
I've worked for many years with IT support, and it is a common "problem" amongst anyone who works with something that they know very well. Joomla is one of the better in this point, but not perfect.

The 1.5.0 file is the correct one or you can install Admin Tools and it will update your site for you. You can find the incremental updates if you do as I posted earlier.
Always backup your site before any changes, Akeeba Backup is a good extension for that.dpacadmin wrote:All of the update packages are available here but only if you are registered and logged in;

Aren't we supposed to just use the 1.5.0 for all versions below 1.5.25?
