i am having a weird issue with joomla urls, short SEF urls are displaying correctly on every page except for user registration landing................once a user registers, he is taken to a page where account activation info is displayed however the url of this page shows "<websitename>/using-joomla/extensions/components/users-component/registration-form?layout=complete"

i have tracked the source to registration.php file and a call is being made to Jroute

how can i modify this url in a non-core hack way so that its dependable

<exactly the same issue is seen with link that comes to a user to activate account>

all i am trying to do here is to remove "/using-joomla/extensions/components/users-component" from the url

kindly help

I dont think URL rewrite, rewrites that. I have the same menu link on my website for user and registration menus. I think its the same as things like the k2 items id's where they can not be removed or at least with heavey hacking from the URL. The second thing is, i am not to sure about your, but my login and register does not have a menu link, so i think that is the reason for the extended URL.

i am able to track this to a file or form called registration-form but the location shown is /using-joomla/extensions/components/users-component/registration-form?layout=complete . i dont see this path on my ftp...where can find this file ?
