Evening All

I've been working on this problem today without finding a solution, and thought that I'd send a post before I shut the computer down.

I've been asked to add 'Facebook like' and 'twitter like' links to the right hand side of the news pages on the following website, beneath the text 'GTC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites.'

Here is an example of one of the news pages.

My problem is this.

The news items are standard joomla articles.

The main menu links to all the news items with a category blog layout.

Here is a link to the page : -

From this page, you can access the individual articles.

The trouble is, because the news items are standard articles and not linked to from a menu, I can't work out how to add these links to the right hand side of the news articles.

Would anyone be able to help me with this?

Thank you in advance for any assistance, this will be a good Joomla lesson if I manage to fix it.

Thank you again

I don't understand your problem, but perhaps I don't understand what you are trying to do.

If you want the social buttons to be generic and just show up in a module to the right, then it will show up for any article from the Category Blog (just like the picture, Tweet link, and other modules that appear on those pages). By "generic" I mean they have no relation to the individual articles.

If you want the social buttons to be specific to each article, then you really should put them in the article itself. That's where people expect them to be, and if they "like" the article, the button to do so is at the bottom (or top or both).

Edit: you might want to fix your links... you have a space between tiny and url, so they don't work without manually editing.
