On my site the menus have the following instead of the actual menus:
Warning: Parameter 1 to modMainMenuHelper::buildXML() expected to be a reference, value given in /home/content/c/i/n/cinee/html/libraries/joomla/cache/handler/callback.php on line 100

When I went into the Menu Manager to see what happened, this is what I found:

Warning: Parameter 4 to JHTMLMenu::treerecurse() expected to be a reference, value given in /home/content/c/i/n/cinee/html/libraries/joomla/html/html.php on line 87

Warning: array_slice() expects parameter 1 to be array, null given in /home/content/c/i/n/cinee/html/administrator/components/com_menus/models/list.php on line 143

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/content/c/i/n/cinee/html/administrator/components/com_menus/models/list.php on line 147

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/content/c/i/n/cinee/html/administrator/components/com_menus/views/list/view.php on line 65
Filter: Go Reset Max Levels

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/content/c/i/n/cinee/html/administrator/components/com_menus/views/list/tmpl/default.php on line 69

I have no clue what to do to fix this! Help!

It looks like there is a mismatch between the versions of Joomla! and PHP you are using. I suspect that the PHP has been upgrade to 5.3.x in your environment.

Be informed that Joomla! 1.5.14 and below are not certified to work with PHP 5.3.x. Joomla! 1.5.15 and above are certified to work with PHP 5.3.x.

Thank you for the quick response. So, basically, I have to upgrade to the Joomla 2.5? Is it easy? Are there instructions online somewhere? Is Joomla 2.5 much different than 1.5 in terms of managing the backend and putting in articles? Staff retraining, oh no!

Here's my skill level: I generally start with my Joomla for Dumbies book and work up to more intense guides getting a feel for whatever process I am trying to do. I can generally get done the things I want to do, but I don't want to tackle any thing to complex and I can generally only take 2-4 hours of it at a time. Any recommendations?

I guess I'll be looking for new books.

You could upgrade your site to Joomla! 1.5.26 which is the latest version in that series.

Make sure to take a copy of your site files and the database content before achieving this.

Get the file Joomla_1.5.0_to_1.5.26-Stable-Patch_Package.zip from the site
http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla ... ge_id=6311 to upgrade your site.

Review of the document http://docs.joomla.org/Upgrading_1.5_from_an_existing_1.5x_version would be of help.
