Re: Menu Item Manager: [mainmenu] Menu items not listed.
The issue could very well be the mismatch between the versions of Joomla! and PHP being used.
What is the version of Joomla! (e.g., 1.5.26) being used?
What is the version of PHP (e.g., 5.3. being used?
Note:
Be informed that Joomla! 1.5 is no longer being supported. The current version of Joomla! is 3.4.3.

php 5.5
joomla 1.5
Hi all,
I think I have a similar problem, the "Show Sub-menu Items" does not work. I do not know if I have to install php 5.2. I hope it is not necessary.
I attach two screenshots.
Thank you very much
Esther

Review of the site http://www.itoctopus.com/menu-item-mana ... -in-joomla would be of help.
Make sure to take a copy of the files before editing them.
Be informed that Joomla! 1.5 is no longer supported. The latest version of Joomla! is 3.4.5 and soon to be 3.5

Re: Menu Item Manager: [mainmenu] Menu items not listed.
I am sorry, It worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had not seen this:
Note added on 1:50 PM 17/03/2014 EST: Newer versions of PHP will no longer accept this solution, and will throw the following error: “Fatal error: Call-time pass-by-reference has been removed”. If you get this error, then you will need to fix the calling function rather than the function call (we know – it’s confusing). In short, you will need to open the file menu.php, which is located under the /libraries/joomla/html/html folder, and change this line:
function treerecurse( $id, $indent, $list, &$children, $maxlevel=9999, $level=0, $type=1 )
to:
function treerecurse( $id, $indent, $list, $children, $maxlevel=9999, $level=0, $type=1 )
