Registration Issues

Using Joomla 1.5.2.6. Set-up a specific registration process just for vendors to place listings using SOBI2. Using the standard Joomla Login. The problem is, no system messages are coming up:

1. If someone hits the login without entering a user name or password the Enter Details page pops up but there is nowhere for them to enter user name (see screen capture).

2. If a user is registering and they input an invalid email, don't fill in all the required fields, don't put in matching passwords, there are no warnings. They can hit submit and the registration page just refreshes and clears and the fields and the user doesn't know what is going on.

3. If a user enters an email address that is already in the database during registration and then hits submit, the registration page just refreshes and clears the fields and the user doesn't know what happened.

Any ideas how to rectify this situation? All and any help would be appreciated.
