Media Manager 'Browse' button not working!
Hi all - When I click the 'Browse' button within Media Manager to upload an image, nothing happens, literally. The button 'depresses', but nothing happens. The same with the 'Start Upload' and 'Clear Completed' buttons. The page is 'Done, but with errors on page (as per the attachment) but I don't think this has anything to do with it. Has anyone had this happen before? Thanx, Dave.
P.S I am new to Joomla. Is there actually anywhere I can get technical support from or is this my only source of tech. supt.?

Re: Media Manager 'Browse' button not working!
First Check your folder/ directory permission image folder must be writable. As far as I know the above error was mainly due to the Latest Version Flash Player Installed for Internet Explorer. i.e. Adove flash player plugin for I.E. many of us currently facing the above problem..Try to reinstall the flash plugin for IE or Try FireFox.
Hope this help..
Thanks

Sorry, exactly how do I do that? There doesn't seem to be anywhere from the Control Panel that I can set permisions for writing to the images folder. Thanx.

Re: Media Manager 'Browse' button not working!
Hi,
i am using Firefox version 3.0.4 and Flock 1.26 AND IE7. The last one is the only one where I can actually upload anything in Joomla. Firefox and Flock both just ignore me when clicking on browse, upload , or clear button. i did have a look at my flash plugin - and reinstalled to make sure, but nothing is moving.
since I hate IE - still coming up with all sorts of sh... off topic - I would like to see if there is a solution to this problem too.
Rick

Re: Media Manager 'Browse' button not working!
When you refer to flash plugin', I assume you mean the latest version of flash player? I have updated this and still can't get any of the buttons on Media Manager to work, yet they work fine on the extension manager???? Also still getting the same 'Done, but with errors on page' message when I open the Conent Manager. Error message still reading 'Object does not support this property or method' but not too sure if this is anything to do with it
Thanx.

Folder Permission can be changed via FTP Software i.e. File Zilla.(Just Right Click on any folder u will see the option)
But error :Object doesn't support this property or method. I have no solution for this sorry,.... I hope someone will solve you problem...soon...Good Luck..
Try This Go to Site > Global Configuration > Media Settings > and check "NO" next to "Enable Flash Uploader"

Thanks Devilboy,
the disabling of the Flash upload worked for me.
Now I will see if I can do anything with the flash plugin....
I'll update when I find a solution.

Re: Media Manager 'Browse' button not working!
yeah! worked for me too.
looks like it happens on every new version of flash player.
Adding to that, new flash player (v10) has some major problems- messed up the firefox. Why can't they test it first? at least a warning ?!!

Worked for me too
I couldn't get on to the Global Configuration bit of Joomla, I think it's restricted by the people who manage our website, but in Firefox you can go to Tools\add-ons\ then choose the plugins tab, and disable [shockwave] flash.
Thanks guys.

Thank you devilboy_1989
The problem of "Browse Button Now Working in media manager" is solved when i disabled the Flash Player upload.
The setting is there in the Global Configuration.

Re: Media Manager 'Browse' button not working!
This is an old thread which covers Joomla 1.5.x.
If you got this far and you are using Joomla 1.7.0, the flash upload control is located in
Media Manager -> Options on the bottom line.
At this writing, the browse button still doesn't work with the upload control "ON".
There is a problem with the Flash 10 version that doesn't work with Joomla.
Current advice as far as I can determine is to wait for Adobe to get it fixed.
Regards,
Phil

Thank you, Devilboy,
Disabling Flash just fixed my problem, too. And I'm writing this in 2015.
