Joomla noob - Please help

I am new to Joomla and I am stuck.

I am currently working on this site http://www.binarymonk.dk

in the template I have room for one artickle and two small newspaper articles. How do I change what size of article I can use on the frontpage?

How do I change size of my logo? I want a banner instead of the square.

Overal my problem is about proportions. I need to change them. How do I do that?

Is there an editor other than the online one I can use?

I need to add a counter, how do I do that?
