:'( :'( I met a big trouble for help please!

I installed Joomla 1.5.14 on my HostMonster account.
Has been a long time there's no problem. But I removed all of the home page articles yesterday in Joomla's Front Page Manager.
:'( :'( Then I found I can not edit any article when I into the Article Manager. Joomla System shows
"You cannot edit an Archived Article".

But my article are all Published !!!

And my home page's link also became :

404 - Article #1 not found
You may not be able to visit this page because of:

an out-of-date bookmark/favourite
a search engine that has an out-of-date listing for this site
a mistyped address
you have no access to this page
The requested resource was not found.
An error has occurred while processing your request.

Why??? Pls help me! :'(

If have access to the database (eg through CPanel & phpMyAdmin), have a look at jos_content (substitute your own prefix) and look at the state field
0: Unpublished
1: Published
-1: Archive

This error triggers when state < 0.

If you have -1, try changing one to 0 or 1 and see what happens.

What causes this problem to happen? This happened to our site just now. The whole site is down until the admin can have a look at the database.

I have the same problem, but I don't see "publish (number), unpublish (number) etc anywhere in the state table. All i have is two rows, one with a number in one column and a coresponding +-1 in the other....
Am I looking in the wrong place?
Thanx for your help
Mark

Oh, I found it, the "state" column in the list of articles themselves... sorry.

Everything that needs to be published has a 1 in the state column and still the prob.

Totally bummed, can't seem to find any solutions...

Well,
I opened up the admin panel in IE8 hoping it was something silly like a browser issue and things seemed to work fine in IE.

So, closed Firefox, reopened it and all's well - strange...

Thanx again

Mark

I don't know that I completely understand the issue here, but I found that it helps to manually refresh the page--often. By "manually refresh" I mean something different depending on the browser. In Firefox and Chrome I right-click and hit refresh.

Glad your issue got resolved.
