Hi,
I got a serious issue with two joomla websites since yesterday.
all menu items have disappeared in the front-end.
When i check back end : menu are still there (as main menu) but when i get in. There is no item anymore inside. Some of them are now in the "trash menu" but if i restore them they simply disapparead and are not restored. If i create a new menu item, it doesnt display neither in back and front end.

I tried to restore previous database, but it doesnt fix this issue.

Has somebody this issue too ? any idea ?
Does anyone have seen this already ?

thanks for help...

Is your site using PHP 5.3.0? If so, there is an issue. Joomla! is not certified to work with PHP 5.3.0.

I am glad that your site is up and running again.

For future reference...

Be informed that you could try to test the version of Joomla that is patched to work with PHP 5.3.0:
http://community.joomla.org/blogs/community/990-testing-help-with-php-530.html

Make sure test it before making changes to the production environment.

Please review the discussion http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=428&t=462194 for more information about how similar situation has been handled.

The latest version of Joomla! is 1.5.17. You could upgrade to it.

I am having the same issues, my menus are gone after the upgrade. Can someone please tell me specifically what to change in the grid.php and help.php? I'm guessing the instructions are part of the one post in this thread, but I can't read it because it's in French so I'm not sure exactly what to change.

I know there are of course other options like upgrading Joomla, but that is not the route I want to go. And my webhosting is no help with something like this.

The php is now running at 5.3.10 since they upgraded. I am running Joomla 1.5.10

Thank you.

If you need it, my site is http://www.scifivision.com

scifivision:

I suggest that you upgrade to 1.5.26 and see what happens. Make sure to take a copy of the site files and the database content before the upgrade.

The document http://docs.joomla.org/Upgrading_1.5_from_an_existing_1.5x_version would be of help.

You could use Joomla_1.5.0_to_1.5.26-Stable-Patch_Package.zip that is available at http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla/frs/?action=FrsReleaseBrowse&frs_package_id=6311 for the upgrade.

But how do I do it without upgrading? I really don't want to mess with that at least for now I need to get it fixed quick because it has to be live right now and then when I have time later I can upgrade.

Thanks
