Adding a [youtube] video to Article

Hello, I am trying to add an embded [youtube] video to an article. I can edit the html to add this

After that, the flash box shows up, so I click apply. Then once it refreshes, the code is gone. How do I allow it to let me post a embedded [youtube] video?

Go to User manager, for editor choice NO EDITOR, save and go to article. Paste [youtube] code where You need, save and that its. After that You can back to User manager and choice Tiny MCE or other WYSIWYG editor (they cut code:)

I've got the same problem : i can't insert any script in an article since à use joomla 1.5.8. It looks that there's a bug with joomla 1.5.8 : code diseappear when i try to save an article.

I use "noeditor"

I am having exactly the same problem after updating to 1.5.8.

I tried everything, but still the code disappears. Is there any possible solution?

I use EasyTube plugin since 1.5.7 and it still works after upgrading to 1.5.8.

It's very easy. You just input your [youtube]/ Google clips by this syntax:

[[youtube]:clips link width height]

I don't see how that guide has anything to do with allowing us to embed a [youtube] clip. All it does is suggest how to blacklist those you don't want to be able to add content.

the [youtube] plugin http://extensions.joomla.org/component/ ... Itemid,35/ doesn't explain where to upload the files to. Where do you upload these files to?

Confirmed: Joomla 1.5.8 strips away [youtube] tags to disallow embedding videos. Please help! Just say NO to another 3rd party plugin. thx

The link that strumjan gave above solves the problem, but the irrational thing is that you have to select one group for blacklist (ie. registered) in order to have superadmin not being filtered by the blacklist.

Must be considered a bug.

Yup this is definately a bug with 1.5.8.

I had an embedded video workign perfectly, upgraded
to 1.5.8 and video gone, strips away [youtube] code.

Admin - Are you aware of this? are you trying to fix it?

HI, guys Id really appreciate if you spare some of your time to help me out... ive tried to follow instructions and black listed everyone except administrator and super administrator but the thing is i still cant embed [youtube] videos...

If you have any ideas could you please share it with me...

Guys, this problem is due to filter controls in Joomla, it filters some HTML elements & add them to the blacklist . You can modify it from Article Options !
