Hi,

I have taken over a Joomla site (version 1.5.14) and I'm having an issue with ordering in the Articals section.

I have several sections (focusing on one atm) and the section ordering within Joomla is something like this:

Title;Order
Item A;1
Item B;2
Item C;3

However, on the website the ordering doesn't match what I have specified within Joomla. For example the ordering on the site would be something like this:

Title;Order
Item A;3
Item B;1
Item C;2

When I create a new "title" within my section the new page (title) becomes the first priority on the site, and if I change the priority to a lower priority the site isn't updated correctly. I do click the save icon, however it makes no difference.

Has anyone seen this behavior before? Wondering if it's something I'm doing wrong but can't imagine that's the case as this is something which seems to be quite simple!

Thanks in advance

Are items A, B and C in the same category?

Deleted my cache as I thought that might have had something to do with it, but it didn't help... :(

Any new article is, by default, added to the top of the list of articles. Ultimately, the Editor or Publisher will determine their position. The item must be saved first though. Pg 44 joomla user manual.

Had a look at the document you referred to and it wasn't a massive amount of help.

I seem to have the same problem with another category now; this time the home page. The following happens:

1) Select a "title" and change the priority
2) Check the home page - results are good; the title moves as per request
3) Run through the above steps a few times all OK
4) after 4-5 priority changes the changes are no longer being taken into account; the object (title) is fixed into one position and will not budge

It's not very consistant; really don't understand what's happening :o
