Hi

Apologies if this is in the wrong place but I am having trouble accessing the back office of the Joomla site I'm the admin for.

I did not create or set up the website but have volunteered to do this recently. I was provided with the log in details by the committee members who require the website, and they worked fine until a week or so ago.

I have not tried changing any of the login details for the site, nor has anyone else who has the access information (to my knowledge).

Is there any way of resetting this or getting this information changed so we can log in again please?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Well i would check the password settings in the configuration.php file located in the file manager of the cpanel in the public.html folder. However, if you change the password and username in here you will have to change the password and admin in phpmyadmin.

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately I am new to the way Joomla! works and don't know how to access those things.

Any further help would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

Have you used the "Forgot password" feature in the front-end. That should fix it, as long as you read mail on the email address that is listed on the user.

If not, use this procedure.
