Getting this strange error on a Joomla 1.5.23 site and can't find any info online about it. Any help would be appreciated.

This sort of error happens with some sites that I work with, when they run out of RAM on their server. So, in their example, they upload a bunch of photos, and make one of the Joomla extensions resize those photos on the fly. The server works hard, and uses up all the RAM that it has (256MB in this example), and runs out of capacity to process other Joomla tasks.

I'm not sure if this is what's happening to yours, but I'd be willing to bet that it has something to do with an overloaded server. I'd connect with your website host to see what they say.

Hi numinousmedia:

Thanks for your suggestions on this, had the server bumped up to 500MB and still have the same error. I then tried to disable the plugins folder and once again it comes up with the same error.

It usually always goes without saying in these forums, but I would highly recommend updating your Joomla to the latest version of 1.5 (1.5.26). This couldn't hurt.

Thanks for the link, I tried all the suggestions in that but none worked. All of those suggestions give me the same error as before, the only one that made a change was:

-----------------------
What I did (thanks to a couple of fragmented suggestions is change the line on 117 to the following

$this->backtrace = debug_print_backtrace();
-----------------------
The original line was: $this->backtrace = debug_backtrace();

By adding "print" to line 117 caused the site to just spin forever, never timing out and never loading. I let it sit and spin for around 5mins before closing the window.

Another question for you... do you have caching enabled on your site?
