New user registration takes long. why ?

Hey
The problem for me is that when i hit the register button to make a new user it takes almost 1 minute to display the success message even if the user activation is done within 3 seconds. Anyone has the same problem ?

the problem is present when i even try to add an user from user menu .. it taked alot of time to respond but in reality the user creation it's immediate. Taking that long to give u the confirmation is very frustating. Anyone has an answer for this pls ?

Have you got the answer ? I also have the same problem ...
As I tried to add user, it takes so loooooooooong time ....
We are just the 2 peoples from the whole world ....
I have checked the session & cache path, php.ini session setting etc ... nothing wrong ....
Joomla global configuration setting (session & cache) ... nothing wrong .....
Adding section, category & contents are normal .... Just has problem as I added a new user ...
Have you changed the 'administration' directory to other name ? Can it be the source of problem ?
I see your post is about 1 year ago ... without any respon from the world ....

I had a same issue as taking a long time to register.
But when I set "Notification Mail to Administrators" parameter to no,
Problem was solved.

Just try my solution.

User Manager > Options > Notification Mail to Administrators > no
