I did my web site and finally got it up and published and was reasonably happy with it. I needed to do some minor upgrades and logged on all looked and worked OK until I wanted to change some infomation and when I went to templates or tried to add a new article etc I got this:-
! r57shell 1.40
and it looks like it is a program from Mars and I can not speak Martian.
I have no idea what has happened, is it me, is it the program, or is it the web host???
Can someone please enlighten me.

Thanks
Susan

Sorry to say that your site has most likely been hacked
http://www.symantec.com/security_respon ... 99&tabid=2

I would take it off line if you have cpanel. If you have a backup before the hack occurred you may be able to restore your site with it.

Now I am really confused. The symantec site about a trojan seems to only include PC's and not web sites?? I am really confused. Sorry

Thank You to WWhite and wajid tareen for your input.
This shows how although you can create a web site with Joomla it needs to be left to the guys who are trained for it. From here I have no idea what to do. I am time poor and feel defeated. I have a suspect who did this and to them... I am unimpressed. One question please, is the site still effective as when I go to the URL it still looks the same to me.

wwhite :) thank you for all your help, all the reading was indeed helpful :)
To juanxzjp many thanks for your kind offer, but it has been fixed.
In all honesty I am not sure how I got so lucky with the web host I use. I asked him to take if off line and he kindly fixed it for me and has not mentioned a fee yet. Although, I will be annoyed if he doesn't, this crowd have been sooo obliguing and helpful so unlike the big companies, I have been blessed.
Thanks guys you all rock :)
