SEP and Alias field not working

SEP and Alias field not working

We are currently running versions Joomla! 1.5.26 Stable and PHP 5.4.25

The alias line is not working in new Article creation. Although it appears from old article to have worked- see http://abetterbalance.org/web/yourstory

New article example:
http://www.abetterbalance.org/web/index ... cle&id=294

*alias should redirect to: http://abetterbalance.org/web/faqnycsick


Note: We have checked our htaccess and config file and they appear to be posting to correct path.
We check and our .htaccess file is correctly named and located at the root of our website. We tested .htaccess for redirect to Google and it worked. Rewritebase was not needed.

Joomla 1.5.26 is not guaranteed to work with php 5.4 it will work with php 5.3. I don't know if that is the issue, but something to check if you can.
