thanks
also plug_shoutbox_announcer has duplicate files in it and doesn't install.....but is this needed?

Sorry but I don't understand which part is supposed to do what...does the latest verison of the mambot announc logins and all that or do you need to install this extra plugin to do that?

Thanks for any help
Lee

P.s. also I cant find the hack for puarcade, does that mean it's built in to the component now>

PUArcade will have full support for both SMO and RISP's shoutbox

the mambot is for sites that dont have community builder

the plugin is a community builder plugin

run one OR the other, NOT BOTH!

Hi there,

Just installed Shoutbox Announcer and it's a great idea. One thing I'm noticing though right off the bat is that when anyone logs in/out the message in Shoutbox is "System: [iurl=> just logged in."

The word > is an actual link to the proper profile of the person who just logged in/out. Any idea why this might be showing this instead of their actual profile name?

Thanks,
Dan

the reason it is doing that is because i wrote the tags to be used with smo ajax shoutbox

the risp shoutbox doesnt handle bbcode, so i switched to smo

plus smo has more ability for smilies

not to be confused with SoM (steveometer)

Thanks for the response. I went and uninstalled the previous shoutbox and put in the smo ajax one. The shoutbox itself works, but when I install the announcer and publish it, I now get the following error when I view my site:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting '&' or T_VARIABLE or T_CONST in /usr/www/virtual/kmdguy/www.yourbestie.com/mambots/system/shout ... ouncer.php on line 35
When I turn off Announcer the error goes away and the site can load. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Dan

Hello, I have the same error  :o
Could this be because of Joomla 1.013 and new CB version?

you cant use both the mambot and the cb plugin

use the cb plugin with cb sites, the mambot otherwise

they cause a conflict if you use both

Hi There,

I am having trouble getting the right names to come up. Instead of their user name I get this

System :  [iurl=«link» just logged in.

the link works fine, but their name isn't showing.

I am using the most recent releases of CB, Shoutbox and your plugin

Thanks

-Tom

the reason that is happening is i havent gotten around to coding the switch for shoutbox versions

that would look just right in the smo shoutbox... i will have to get onto coding that switch this weekend, as i am busy all day tomorrow

perhaps if you get on my sites new forums, and remind me, i will work on that saturday

forgot to say, i am going to be combing code in all the plugins i have, reversioning them all, and working some new features in.

that will be happening this weekend. i have already modded a few PUA modules to stop errors in future version, but they aren't up yet. all files will be updated on the joomla extentions site as they are re-uploaded to my site (will be switching from remository to docman, as remository suddenly stopped working right)

there are a few newer version, and i believe that a simple thing can fix this

i havent used the login logout messages ever as they annoy me, so never tested that

i believe a simple @ on the line in question would do it, one before each variable ( @$row, @$tf ) ect

Hi guys i ve been using joomla for almost 3 years, i always try to use smo shoutbox the only that i find in the web is too old and when i install that one i get my website running weird i mean people who login can write in the shoutbox but when them go to another section in my site they log out because the shoutbox just kick them out, there is an update for this shoutbox? because if i try the one made for Bart Jochems this CB PLUGIN doesn't work i just get this [iurl=«link» when a user login and i know steve your code wasn't made for this one.

I just need the old one working good for the new browsers IE7 etc

Thanks

Only 10 entries shown

Post by Linselusen » Fri Mar 07, 2008 12:21 pm

Im lost in space :geek:

The default setting for number of showed shouts is 35, but i only get 10 shown
no matter what number i enter.:

// The number of comments that should show up in one viewing.
$jal_number_of_comments = 35;

What do i do wrong??

GOT IT 8) Im absolutely no programmer, but a look in the PHP-file just solved my problem.
There is ANOTHER line that needs to be edited. Hereby listet if others get the same problem.:

$sql = "SELECT * FROM #__liveshoutbox ORDER BY id DESC LIMIT 50";

My first reply, and i will hereby say thx to the programmers for a REALY nice shoutbox!

that should be where you set how many shouts to load on a new page

the feeds are a special plugin that i was paid to develop, the person who paid to have it made wants to keep it private, but he said a highly motivated site owner would be willing to negotiate for permission to use it

i think he wants money, but im sure we can bribe him with other stuff also

if it was my code it would be gnu/gpl, but he paid me to develop it, it would be unfair to just give away
