Before I asked, I try all configurations for plugin! You can see the attached above image for plugin configuration .

It seems that only all articles will be controlled by yvsmilley plugin or not!

Because my website is a demo!

I put comment in section with id=5 and I do not care smileys appear it other sections. Maybe, you test on your sections and it works as you said.

But, the other component, i.e. com_vnnews, yvsmileys will replace smiley TAG com_vnnews's content if "Enable Smiley replacements for the whole page (even here:)" is on.
If I turn this option off, the comment in section id=5 and other com also are off and, then Other options is not active (change it do not see any smiley).

As I can see, we won't understand each other until you give me admin password to your site... or you have to look into yvSmiley's code, debug it and find the cause of the problem yourself...

I send you an admin acc.

Here is the instance of yvcomment:
http://kulkul.xahoihoctap.net/index.php ... mitstart=2

Other component, yvsmileys still is on on this component (the image attachment):
http://kulkul.xahoihoctap.net/index.php ... /3B9FF76D/

I wish yvsmiley acts only on section ID, not other components.

Thanks

What I did as an admin:
yvSmiley config:
1. "Enable Smiley replacements for the whole page..." changed to "No"
yvComment config:
1. "Execute content plugins" changed to "Yes"
---
Then I added one comment for the test... (and published it from the backend)
What we have now:
1. There are no smileys in the article of other section:
The article from other section
2. There are smileys in the comment, if we look at it as an article:
Comment as an article
3. There are smileys in in comments of the article, see:
Article with comments with smileys

It seems to me, that everything is Ok. Is it what you want?

Yes! It works as my wish!
Thank you very much for your kind help!

The strange is, your configuration is the same as I done in the post http://forum.joomla.org/posting.php?mod ... #pr1212014:
Image

But your configuration works ???, maybe the cache in Joomla 1.5 or something else!

Thank you again!

I've tried to add the amsn smileys but get the following error:

# XML Parsing Error at 5:50. Error 4: not well-formed (invalid token)
# "smileys" element not found in aMSN SmileSet file ?? Maybe this is wrong XML file?
Smiley set file="/home1/popymcom/public_html/plugins/system/yvsmiley/settings.xml"

I've tried it with the entire amsn file directory intact as well as just the smileys folder and settings.xml file

I'd really like to use that set but it won't work properly!

This error means, that this aMSN xml file needs to be fixed. You may even try to open it with e.g. Internet explorer to see some similar error report... This was discussed earlier in this thread (in February 2008).

Good luck.

Hello Yuri,

i found your yvsmilies because of implementig the Ajax shoutbox which is supporting your plugin :D

I got it working (for one day) and was totally happy - many thanks for your fantastic work and genius idea for this.

Unfortunatly i had made some changes (to have less smileys) so i touched my csv and can´t get it to work again - hope that you can give me a hint where i can search for my failure.

I´m using Joomla 1.5.8 in legacy mode and yvSmileyPlugin1.03.001.zip

Image

Parameters in Backend:
1.) set to CSV
2.) path to file /images/smilies/mg.csv
mg.csv
3.) as you see here, the plug IS WORKING !!! but now only replace the code with my explanation (in this case "Grinsen") in my file and not with the image.

Code: Select all

":)";Grinsen;/images/smilies/smile.gif,
Unnecessary to say that the image is still in that same folder as you can see here
http://www.movegreen.de/images/smilies/smile.gif Image

Surely enought - it cant be a big thing, but i´m sitting to near to figure it out - a hint would be helpfull.

Hi, KurtSteiner!
I just visually compared your CSV file with "plugins\system\yvsmiley\smileyset_tinymce.csv", included in the package and I saw one difference, that may lead to the falure:
1. Additional ',' at the end of each line...

I think you better customize yvSmiley step-by-step: start from moving existing smileyset_tinymce.csv file to the new place and ensure it works; then change one first line...

Good luck!

Tip: Use plain text editor to edit the CSV...

Thx for a wonderful plugin! Im using this for our Shoutbox on the site and everything works excellent!
After setting up everything and playing around i decided to make a Swedish language pack for the plugin, but i cannot get my Swedish translations to show up anywhere. This is what i did:

1. Unpacked yvSmileyLanguagePack_en-GB_1.03.000.zip
2. Translate the strings in sv-SE.plg_system_yvsmiley.ini
3. Exchanged en-GB to sv-SE in all files
4. Renamed all files from en-GB to sv-SE
5. Repacked it as a file named yvSmileyLanguagePack_sv-SE_1.03.000
6. Installed it via Joomla admin panel
7. Activated it under Plugins

Now everything works exactly as before, meaning it works perfect but i do NOT get any Swedish
translations :( Not in the administration for yvsmiley and not in the Shoutbox Frontend.
When hoovering over the smileys i expected the 'description' to show up for the user, for an example the text 'asgarvar' when hoovering the ROFL-smiley.

Any idea what im missing? Or isnt this a functionality i can get in the Shoutbox maybe?

Thx in advance, /Peter

Hi, Peter!
As you may see, 'yvSmileyLanguagePack_en-GB.xml' file containes instruction how to create your language pack. Looking into it and comparing with what you did I see, that maybe you missed something of this ( see "c)"... ):
a) In the names of the files of this package,
b) in the name of the package itself,
c) in the text inside this file,
d) and in the text inside all *.ini files,
replace:
'en-GB' with 'code of Your language';
'English' with 'Name of Your language in English'.
???

This is a great plugin. I needed it for the shoutbox http://joomla.batjo.nl. Their readme directed me to your plugin. My only problem is, in my forum I see smileys in areas like SUBJECTS.

I entered ID 46 which is my shoutbox module in the plugin screen. I tried with yes and no on Exclude Sections, selected above. Forum still shows smileys when someone uses the code combination in their subject.

How can I make it so this will only work on my shoutbox and not in forum?

Smileys for some part of the page only

Post by yvolk » Fri Mar 27, 2009 3:55 am

As I see from your message, you have yvSmiley's option
"Enable Smiley replacements for the whole page" = "Yes".

The short way to solve your problem is:
You (or maybe developers of your plugin) should "teach" that plugin to work with
"Enable Smiley replacements for the whole page" = "No"
- so yvSmiley will replace text with smileys in designated parts of your site only.
yvSmiley has documented API for this, see Information for Developers.

Hello,

Great plugin!
Is it possible not to show all the smileys but for example only 20 of them. It's because i've 140 smileys....

I think it's here but i don't know how to do! :'(

Code: Select all

	// Show clickable smileys
	// $ControlID - id of target control
	// $Form - string, to which the Form code is appended
	function _renderForm($ControlID, & $Form, $FormID) {
		$strOut = '';
		$strOut .= '<div class=\'yvSmileyForm\'';
		if (!empty($FormID)) {
    	$strOut .= ' id=\'' . $FormID . '\'';
		}
    $strOut .= '>';
		$src_prev = '';
		foreach ($this->_asmiley as $row) {
			$code = $row[0];
			$code = str_replace('\'', '\\\'', $code);
			$alt = $row[1];
			$src = $row[2];
			;
			if (strcmp($src_prev, $src) != 0) {
				$strOut .= '<a href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="yvSmileyReplaceText(' . $ControlID . ', \'' . $code . '\');">';
				$strOut .= '<img src="' . $src . '" alt="' . $alt . '" />';
				$strOut .= '</a>';
				$src_prev = $src;
			}
		}
		$strOut .= '</div>';
		$Form .= $strOut;
		return true;
	}
If you can help me...

Thanks,

Hi, I think you better create new 'Smiley set' file with only, say, 20 smileys that you wish to be shown (or duplicate existing one and edit the copy).
Please note that you don't have to copy/delete smiley image files - you have to change 'Smiley set' file only.

I've got you. In the code of the 'function _renderForm' that you cited you may insert before the right brace of the foreach { ... } loop
something like this:

Code: Select all

if ($code == ':-)') {
       break;
}
where ':-)' is the code of the last smiley that you want to be shown in the form.

so the code of the function will look like this:

Code: Select all

	// Show clickable smileys
	// $ControlID - id of target control
	// $Form - string, to which the Form code is appended
	function _renderForm($ControlID, & $Form, $FormID) {
		$strOut = '';
		$strOut .= '<div class=\'yvSmileyForm\'';
		if (!empty($FormID)) {
    	$strOut .= ' id=\'' . $FormID . '\'';
		}
    $strOut .= '>';
		$src_prev = '';
		foreach ($this->_asmiley as $row) {
			$code = $row[0];
			$code = str_replace('\'', '\\\'', $code);
			$alt = $row[1];
			$src = $row[2];
			;
			if (strcmp($src_prev, $src) != 0) {
				$strOut .= '<a href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="yvSmileyReplaceText(' . $ControlID . ', \'' . $code . '\');">';
				$strOut .= '<img src="' . $src . '" alt="' . $alt . '" />';
				$strOut .= '</a>';
				$src_prev = $src;
			}
			if ($code == ':-)') {
		       break;
			}
		}
		$strOut .= '</div>';
		$Form .= $strOut;
		return true;
	}

Hi!
You have to set "'Smiley set' file (and format)" parameter to 'phpBB sample set' or 'TinyMCE sample set'. (It looks like now you have some 'Custom...' value selected but you didn't provide any custom 'Smiley set' file).
