With this component you can create a table in the frontend and administrate it completely from this. The component is multi language in front- and backend. (Till now english.php (Should be improved), german.php, germanf.php, germani.php)
Also the component has an external css but that sould be exdended in future.

So what is the advantage to a normal content table:
I had the problem, that at one of my sites users wanted to arrange appointments through a table. Now the big problem was, that everytime when a user didn't leave the article properly it was locked (checked out) and it couldn't be edited by anyone. With Event Table Edit you can avoid this. There is a check in / out, too so there should be no conflicts at editing. But the lock can be override so an article isn't locked permanently.

Furthermore the component has many useful functions like create new cols / rename them / management of the rows etc.

In the backend the user access levels for the different edit functions can be adjusted.

If you want test the component and tell me bugs or features that should be included.

Here you can download the component http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/ev_table_edit/ (klick on files)

Hi folks,
The new version of Event Table Edit is finally released. Lots of new features are included:

*Up to 100 tables can be administrated
*Enhanced Template System (important styling options can be edited directly from the backend; everything else can be adjusted through a css file)
*An automatic sorting function is added, so the rows can be sorted alphabetically, after integers or floats.
*A small faq is added directly in the backend
*Finally it is possible now to use special characters in the table headings

So try it out, I would be glad to get feedback.
Remember that this version is still beta and should only be used carefully on productive sites.
