Problems with field "date" import!

Quote:
In my import file the creation date is : 2008-06-26 16:49:11
but in the created article the creation date is : 1970-01-01 01:33:28

I see the same error

Quote:
Yes I solved the problem by using a timestamp instead of a string 'YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS' !

I don't know how to use timestamp.
Please help me how to put the right creation date!!
tnx

Sorry, Roman, about my delay in responding.

Could you please send me 1) the Jix import files you are using and 2) the error display that comes up when you use the "Verbose Import" option.

Thanks for using Jix!

I cannot send files and errors because I did it at another computer. I am trying to repeat the operations with adding date now but unfortunately my skills are not so good to add date.

Could you please create jix import file for content with date and status "published".
Or write down the steps for doing these operations. I've seen your tutorials, but unfortunately that was not enough for me.

Sorry to bother you :(
It's really important for me.

I saw in a previous post that you were planning to write some tutorials for Jix. Have you done that yet? I can see an enormous potential in Jix, since it looks like I can set it up to import to any Joomla table. The problem is that other than the Sections, Categories, Content, and Users there doesn't seem to be any other way to add data to any other table.

Here's the problem: I have a customer who will be creating a significant number of menus, and possibly Joomla content or Zoo articles. It looks like I should be able to set up Tables, Fields, and Indexes in Jix to be able to import that data, but I just don't understand how those three tables work. I'm really confused about jix_fields and jix_indexes.

I'm fairly comfortable working with the Joomla database, so I'd like to be able to add my own entries to Jix for other tables. How can I do that?

Hi Martin,
Thanks for your contribution. Jix is extensible to any table in the Joomla database - I just made it easy for you by preparing the Jix for Users and Content etc.

If you'd like me (on a commercial basis) to prepare the Jix config file(s) for you, please send me an email.

Hello,

I have jix installed on 2 machines, test and production. The file that the test server exports, the prod server will not import. I get tons of 200 style error messages. I noticed that the contact categories were not in place, so I added them manually, exported them, and am trying to reimport them. I get error 200 on import as well.

Error on Prod Server importing contact categories:
Error 200: Home Office in row 2 not found in SELECT `id`, `title` FROM `#__sections` ORDER BY `title`;
Error 200: com_contact_details in row 3 not found in SELECT `id`, `title` FROM `#__sections` ORDER BY `title`;
Error 200: com_contact_details in row 4 not found in SELECT `id`, `title` FROM `#__sections` ORDER BY `title`;
Error 200: com_contact_details in row 5 not found in SELECT `id`, `title` FROM `#__sections` ORDER BY `title`;
Error 200: com_contact_details in row 6 not found in SELECT `id`, `title` FROM `#__sections` ORDER BY `title`;
Error 200: com_contact_details in row 7 not found in SELECT `id`, `title` FROM `#__sections` ORDER BY `title`;

The section listed in Home Office exists, and it should populate it. com_contact_Details is I believe a standard joomla section for the contact categories. It too should exist. I though maybe the id field needed cleared out since it was on a different server, and it did the same thing. Any assistance would be marvelous.

Thanks

Kayla

Kayla,

Try checking the jos_sections table in phpMyAdmin or similar. Do you have records in which the field "title" is "Home Office" or "com_contact_details"? Jix thinks not.

If there's no confidentiality problems, you could send me your Jix config files and I could look at them for you.

I looked at it again and determined that my Categories in my csv file had a space after them. so it was Home Office , etc. It was then failing on all other contact detail imports, and a coworker indicated that with out the useriD filled out it would not import.

Is there an update that you can do so that the userID doesn't have to be filled out? As a work around, all contacts who aren't users now have "genericcontact" as their userid.

Also, the upload fails with the same errors if the category is capitalized differently from what is expected. Very frustrating.

Otherwise this product is awesome, and we are ever thankful for it's creation. :)

hi all,

i have problem with importing Turkish charactgers like ğ, ü, ş, ı etc.

while importing the contact details, the rest of the text after any Turkisk character is missing.

If a cell contains a text lie "Bağdat Caddesi", it is imported as "Ba"

another problem is adding email field to the current user configuration file, i added a new field for email to jix_fields_044.csv and imported it again to joomla, yes the new field is visible at the panel but i cannot import csv files with emails added.

i get

failed..
failed..
failed..
...
..
..
0/xx records added...

i need to use contacts feature without linked to users of the website.

good day to all

Let me know, if JIX can do this. We need someone to get this done.

We did it yesterday by doing a custom script. So, anyone who needs it done, we can do it for them. :)

Nope lol.
We wasted 3 days in looking for a good existing extension to do that .but neither JIX nor Export Content could do it.
So, atlast, we did it using a sql class and one core member's suggestion also..
Well look at this,
viewtopic.php?f=430&t=456791&p=1914451&e=1914451

You can do it, if you are good at MySQL. Goodluck 8)

Just a simple INSERT statement will do bro.

If you run a Web Dev company, then you must have developers in there. Just ask them to do it directly.

Just INSERT statement will do.

But since you just want to do 20 articles , then just go for this,

This extension you gave will not work as I dont have a site to export from
We add new contents as it is a newspaper and we have to insert it in bulk...like import from excel, etc,.

Ok..
The the last solution is SQL INSERT or CSV Import.

I think, CSV Import is best for a non-technical guy.
