This is a very interesting addon, thanks for the time and dedication to the people behind it. But looks like the Access adapter isn't working properly.

I'm trying to disable install mod/com/plug access to Administrators, I click save and when I edit back again, it shows me all the item boxes checked.

Looks like you can only "Add" features, not "Remove" from specified user groups.

erBag,

I have not yet tested RokDownloads with NOIX ACL 2.0.6.

What is it that you would like NOIX ACL to do with regard to RokDownloads.

The error I got was due to my negligence. I didn't enable the plugins so there was no restriction for users to change urls and access portions of the site prohibited for their group.

It's fixed now. Thanks! :geek:

I am having problems setting up users.

How can you assign a user to backend AND frontend permissions

I am the main admin and trying to set up my fellow designer with Super Admin status in the backed but when he tries using that user name for front end he gets denied, no access.

I can't see how to select all or multiple levels.

Can you navigate to the folder "/homepages/43/d206657727/htdocs/motus/prueba/libraries/joomla/installer/adapters/" ?

Can you check the permissions for the folder?

Is the file adapter.php there?

Hello all,

I have just spent a little time getting to know a little about Virtuemart because a Virtuemat user wanted to know if they could use NOIX ACL with it.

My answer at this time is ... Yes.

I did find that I chose to hack a couple of files in order to see all of the users that I had created without using Virtuemart or users who are in groups that I had created using NOIX ACL.

I have also successfully registered users with and without the Virtuemart user registration form.

The VirtueMart registration form asks for billing information.

If I don't use the Virtuemart registration form, Virtuemart requres the additional information it needs before the user can checkout.

I am working on a document which will be found at:

I need help. I'm using noixACL and when the noixACL plugins are enabled I lose access to many functions in the backend. If I enable the system noixACL and user noixACL plugins, I can not use the Close or Apply buttons for articles. I also can't delete articles or create/edit menu items. I've checked that the super admin group has all menu permissions. What am I missing? I can't go live with my site until this is resolved or find another way to handle groups. Please please help. When I try to do any of the above in the backend, it says You dont have permission to access.

kathtg,

Have you had a chance to read any of the documents at http://blueflyingfish.no-ip.biz/joomla15/ yet?

On the backend, the only conflicts that exist, at this time are the NOIX menu and content adapter.

Just disable them when you need to create, edit, delete Menus, Menu Items and Content.

Enable them when you are through.

My demo site has a number of "How To" documents.

No I'll go through those documents now thank you. I really appreciate your getting back to me and so quickly too!

It's a problem for me if this is an issue because the site is based off of groups so if I disable these plugins; the site will be down during that time. Is there a known way to fix this by chance or is it planned for a future release?

kathtg,

Disabling the adapters does not affect the front end.

I didn't realize that. I may be turning off the wrong thing to fix it. I'm turning off the user and system plugin. I'm guessing that there is a way to disable the adapter only. I'll look for that in the documentation. Thank you so much for your replies!

You are welcome.

You only need to disable the menu and content adapters on the backend to allow access to menus, menu items and content.

that worked perfectly thank you! I'm curious as to why I need this at all now though. I'll have about 10 administrators entering content for different areas and it would be easier to keep it disabled since constant editing will be done.

kathtg,

I am glad to hear that you have been able to implement a solution.

P.S.

I am no longer using the native Joomla content manager.

I prefer using K2 and JCE.

I don't know where I posted this, I thought here. I think it has been deleted. I wanted to let you know that I figured out it was my mistake for the sections and categories not appearing. The content adapter was enabled and I meant to disable it.

Thanks and Have a Great Day,

K

I just downloaded NOIX ACL 2.0.6 files (Sys and User plugins version 2.0.10 installed and enabled) and I no longer can use a username that I deleted. What is more, the username does not show up in the Joomla users list. I know that someone had the same issue a while ago, but I thought that the newest plugins versions fixed that.

How can I fix this user? Where is the data stored? I'm getting the msg WARNREG_IN USE.

Thanks.

the WARNREG_IN USE means that the jos_user table still contains the user you are trying to create.

It also means that you need to check out the following joomla tables:

1) groups: jos_core_acl_aro_groups
2) users: jos_core_acl_aro (value = jos_users table id)
3) users and groups: jos_core_acl_groups_aro_map

Once you have fixed all of your joomla core_acl tables have you checked out my NOIX demo site:

http://blueflyingfish.no-ip.biz/joomla15
