eZine v1.9 - the Open Source Version
eZine version 1.9
Make it easier to use Mambo/Joomla for making online newspaper/magazine (e-zine).
The eNews/eZine`s frontpage is fully customizable thru admin panel.
Examples: TranSucVietNam OnHamptonRoads UKZambians TangoTang
The files are difficult to find so the files are attached to this post.
EDIT: Updated component file and added the Complete Package file.
New component file has 4 lines changed in 2 files.
Everything else, the modules etc., is identical.
The Complete Package file contains the component and the two modules - unzip first.

Re: eZine v1.9 - the Open Source Version
That's very kind of you, especially so since Joomla is OS and one version of ezine is commercial. More importantly, ezine is a fabulous component. Over a month, I tried out a large numer of coms and mods in an abortive attempt to manipulate my front page layout content. With ezine, I managed the whole thing inside an hour.
I cannot recommend ezine highly enough.

Re: eZine v1.9 - the Open Source Version
Ah, i understand what you want now. It is exactly the Topic Management feature we are developing for eZine v3.0 which will be released to the community when Joomla! v1.5 goes stable.saqibarzani wrote: I mean being able to select multiple categories for an article ! Unfortunately, eZine v1.9 does not support for this functionality yet.

Hmmm...
Guys, this is the Open Source forum.
e-Zine is not.
Let's keep this discussion where it is, thanks.
Use pms if you like.

Re: eZine v1.9 - the Open Source Version
Well , we are also bringing up some new strategies for the Joomla core ! One of the things we should be able to do with a TPS or joomla itself is , being able to establish connections between artilce, author, category/subcategory. This is a rule fo a good CMS. Is your new version going to be able to do these? If yes can I get a testing copy ? Thanks again

You can download nightly builds of 1.5 alpha2 here: http://dev.joomla.org/
I would also suggest taking a look around the developer site so you can get insight as to what the future of Joomla is going to be.

Re: eZine v1.9 - the Open Source Version
Thanks MMMedia , I downloaded that version and played around with it, but regretfully I could not install anything. I tried many times, but in vain.I think it's better to wait for the stable version. Do you have any idea when it will be out ?
Thanks again
Thanks again

I think the latest open source version is either 2.1 or 2.5
