I like the concept for this product, but I'm a bit nervous about using it. I'm maintaining a site for my school, and any problem could tarnish its image (whatever). I want to get it from Mambo 4.6 to Joomla 1.0.11 ASAP, and I'm trying to do it all locally right now. I don't think I'll use the automated script, instead opting for overwriting everything on my Windows machine, where I won't have to worry about file permissions or anything.

Hello!

I'm looking so forward to use Joomla Auto Migration, but I don't get further than the first step (http://www.astang.com/joomla/automigrate)

I know that my information is correct. Also, I think i know what my problem is:

My adress for cp is http://solbergfotball.no/cp/
- ... so since the migaration couldn't log in, I tested it manually:
- after typing user and pass - what happends is that I'm being sent to another adress: http://83.143.81.118/psoft/servlet/psoft.hsphere.CP
- when i type in my username and password here, I can login.

What can i the do to do the Migration?

The common, traditional and PAINSTAKING process of Mambo to Joomla migration of:

1. Download the Joomla installation zip file
2. Unzip the Joomla installation file in your local
3. Upload the Joomla unzipped file from your local desktop to the webhost via FTP, one-by-one thus overwriting the Mambo installation
4. Migrate the Mambo mySQL to Joomla data base by running the mySQL migration script(provided by the Joomla CORE)via phpmyadmin
5. Reconfiguring AGAIN your configuration.php

I really need to change my mambo backend to joomla..
I am a newbie to this but I have read all the responses and issues associated with this,
When try to migrate from this http://www.astang.com/joomla/automigrate
aftr clicking submit it comes back to the same page, with out any error message or anything and does not effect my site at all
and this URL http://joomla.astang.com/automigrate doesnt work at all, I am wondering if this script is still arround coz some of the other urls on this page doesn't work either.
I have to this is a very urgent situation, any help would be appreciated

When I attempted to use this script, my hosting account got suspended temporarily due to exceeding my CPU Quota, and the script didn't work.

I use bluehost.com as my hosting. Just a warning!

I'm also getting the same error:

*** Please correct error(s) ***
- Invalid Directory

I have both access to CPanel and Direct Admin and both are showing the same error.

Currently on:

cPanel Build 11.18.1-RELEASE 20683
Theme cPanel X v2.6.0
cPanel Pro 1.0 (RC1)

What could be the problem to this? Kindly help pls.

is there an option in your cpanel that you can choose the LEGACY cpanel(the old stable one and not the pro one)?
this could probable because of the cpanel theme not supported on the cpanel pro.

hello tom,

thanks for the heads up.
i remember i have sites hosted on bluehost as well that even opening up JCE takes me to a "exceeding CPU Quota". bluehost hosts tons of sites in one box and they have limits per site/account how much CPU can you only use at a given time. so just imagine if there are other busy sites hosted on the same box and there are 50 accounts in that box. that boils down to 2% of cpu is assigned to each account.

that is why this script is faster and can install a fresh install of joomla in 7 seconds(more or less depending on the server) because it uses a lot of server's cpu to accommodate the migration or install.
