I just noticed that some of the images when creating a post weren't being loaded. I'm guessing that is the folder it could not create:
http://150.216.55.177/napcom/images/fbfiles/editor/text_bold.png

Check your images folder to make sure Apache has permission to create new folders and files in it.

Hope this helps. I signed up and posted and that seemed to work!

How do you configure it to allow users to make new topics? I only found the option for the administrator to create new topics? Or is there a way users can create new posts within that posts and then people respond. For Instance you go into the forum and see Kunena > Welcome Mat ..etc.

so I would create as an admin Kunena > DJ Talk ....Kunena > Techniques.., users should not be able to create categories in the home domain?

Do I as an admin have to create the new categories within Kunena for users to start making threads within that?

I think typically, you only want admins to create the different forums/categories and the users only create posts in them, but there may be a setting if you really want anyone to be able to create categories.

For the folder, I think you just need to change the permissions on the images folder to make sure the Apache user can write to it. You can do this in most FTP programs or using the NinjaXplorer component.

I don't have Kunena installed locally to test, but I'm guessing you can change all the welcome messages, etc in either the configuration or by modifying the language file and/or views.

Let me know if you are still having issues. It looks like you got some categories setup, so I'm guessing you are rolling right along. Nice work!

I am working on it right now, thank you so much for your continued support. What folder is the one you were referring to, so that way I can go and find it by directory path structure?

I'm not sure what the full path would be on your server, but the URL is:
http://150.216.55.177/napcom/images/fbfiles/editor/text_bold.png

So I'm guessing it is trying to create an fbfiles folder under your Joomla images directory:
.../napcom/images/

I would definitely try to get the image files installed because when I was creating a post, I didn't see the correct buttons. Do you?

You can probably just unzip the component and manually copy the correct folders/files up there rather than having to uninstall/reinstall the component.

I still cannot seem to find the file folder you are talking about. Perhaps its hidden however it would show up in an ftp browser like FTPcorelite. Let me know what you think...

Thanks again so much!

This file is also in the images directory that I'm talking about:
http://150.216.55.177/napcom/images/stories/DjCentrikSimpleWhiteFinal.jpg

That napcom/images directory may not have the proper permissions to allow Apache to create the folder it is trying to create (fbfiles).

Does that make sense or am I missing the question?

No your right, I am also trying to figure out where to display the quantities of each product in virtuemart, to see if it updates in real time. Or does the user not see that, and its all backend.

I think typically the quantities are just for the backend, but there might be a setting to show it on the front. If not, you can probably do it by changing your VM template files to display it.

Let me know if you need help figuring out how to do it.

Yeah I was lookin for that, couldnt find it, I am going to re-upload those images out of the original install file. I think its moot point for the quantities, the Add To Cart should disappear when the items are all out of stock. Do you have any suggestions to add or change to the site. I still seem to be having trouble gettin the images to display....

Which images are you having difficulty with? The PHPBB ones? Were you able to re-upload them?

Sorry, I meant Kunena. PHPBB is another forum.

What happens when you try to upload the files?

Are you trying to copy the entire folder up? Does the fbfiles folder get created in the images folder or does nothing happen?

Take a look at the permissions for your images folder. Also, look to see the owner/group for the images folder. If they are not the same as the FTP user you are using, that will be an issue. You can sometimes change the permission of the folder to allow other users (in this case your FTP user) to write to it. You can try that out and see if it works.

Let me know.

I will take another look, I was curious with html...how can i make an image fluidly resize itself regardless of the browser window size, so if i have a 1024x768 the image will resize to that...or a 1440 x 980 the image will resize to that, instead of having it too big or too small. Please let me know. this would be for a page background.

Can you just do height/width of 100% on the image? Something like this:
Code:
<img style="width: 100%; height: 100%" src="http://www.cmsmarket.com/templates/cms_market_1.5/images/logo.jpg" />

It doesn't look like you can use the background-image css style and tell it to stretch. I could be wrong, so look around, but I couldn't find a way.

Would something like this work?
Code:
<img style="position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; z-index: -1; width: 100%; height: 100%" src="http://www.cmsmarket.com/templates/cms_market_1.5/images/logo.jpg" />

The position absolute should tell the browser to just always draw it at the top left corner and the z-index should make it appear behind everything on the page.

Test it in a bunch of browsers to make sure nothing weird happens. Let me know how it goes.

Yeah , that did, please check my forum to see if that worked for the posts. I can't seem to make sure. Also do you know how to enable SSH within Server 2008 Microsoft for FTP sites if I wanted to have them in joomla?

Also, how can i embed music into a web page, it seems the "embed" tag has been recognized as outdated....any idea. I want to embed my own music player with a playlist in addition to the one I installed in joomla, I know that I can just add another module...but I would like to have my own that I embedded myself with html.

It looks like I can see the images now:
Attachment:
nap0213_1.jpg

I've never setup an SSH server on Windows, so I can't help there. I did a quick Google search and there seem to be many options out there, but I don't know which is best.

If you do a custom module, you can paste HTML into it. If the HTML is being stripped out, you may have to edit your TinyMCE plugin settings to turn off Clean up HTML (I think that's what it's called).

Let me know if I can help with anything else.

TinyMCE is the name of the text editor when you are creating an article. It has all the little buttons for styling your articles. One of the buttons says HTML and allows you to paste raw HTML into your articles.

There are settings for the TinyMCE Editor plugin if you go to Extensions -> Plugins that allow you to configure it.

Let me know if you have more questions.

My question is how do I code a music playlist with pure html outside of any extension basically without using the "embed" tag since that is now outdated according to research i've done. It seems the object tag is the new "embed" can you tell me a process for doing this?

I would just find another site that does what you are looking to do and view their HTML. I think even with the object tag, you have to specify the player to use, but I don't have much experience and would have to look it up. I did a quick Google search, but it looks like there are a lot of options to choose from.

If you find a page that has an example and can't figure out what they are doing, post a link back here and I can try to help.
