Re: invalid token during logging in
I have just had this issue as well, running Joomla 1.5.20 with virtuemart 1.1.5, it had been running fine up until I moved my webhost directory. I was using a module to login called mod_virtuemart_login, I unpublished the module then re-published it and it seems so far to have fixed the issue. (fingers crossed xx)

Re: invalid token during logging in
Well, obviously some people need the SEO so that won't help me. I am just shocked that no one has addressed this in the past. A simple search shows this as being a problem since the beginning of Joomla. I build dozens of Joomla websites per year. I have only had this issue pop up 3 or 4 times and I have not found anything common among the websites that will fix all of them. It is a real guess...so so sad...

Re: invalid token during logging in
Amazing, indeed invalid token is cause by many problems but still there is a solutions, I try this one and it helps me, I remove the old login module and replace it with a new one, VOILA!!! my problem resolved. You might try deleting your login module and make a new one. Sometimes when I have login problems (doesn't matter what kind of login problems) I delete the module and start over. That helps. I don't know why. Seems to clear out some kind of garbage tho because it usually works.
Many programs come with a custom Joomla login but I don't use them. You can make a new login module by going to MODULES, then click on NEW and then select LOGIN from the list. Enable the new login module with the appropriate parameters.
It's surprising how much a new login module can help.
Thank you for this advised.

If you change the configuration for the live site to the same as you have for your shop site, the problem seems to rectify itself.
ie:
Shop site = http ://yoursite.com
Live site = http ://yoursite.com
or
Shop site = http ://www.yoursite.com
Live site = http ://www.yoursite.com
Both need to be the same, something to do with sessions.
Check the configuration.php file in the site root directory.

Re: invalid token during logging in
there is only a var $live_site in the configuration.php ($no shop_site) and the URL is exactly the same than Administrator > virtuemart > configuration > Security (tab) > Site Url and Secure Url
the 3 URL are exactly the same
the website is totally finish but with that bug I cannot put it online and I don't know how to solve it ?
do you know if it is possible to use joomla login mod instead of mod_virtuemart_login ?
thank you

Re: invalid token during logging in
Cant see any reasons why not, there are a few comments in previous replies to this thread about using a new logon module. In the configuration section of virtuemart there is a section on User Registration Settings, which will enable the joomla logon.

Re: invalid token during logging in
This solution might work for some.
I had an invalid token after upgrading to the latest joomla and virtuemart. I tried everything on the forums but it didn't change. Eventually i found out that it was sh404sef. Just installing in admin 404sef didn't fix the invalid token but when i deleted the 404sef tables in phpmyadmin and reinstalled 404sef the invalid token was gone.
hope it helps

Re: invalid token during logging in
I have dealt with this for over a year now. So i decided to do some more testing and found the same problem as mariusvr.mariusvr wrote:The force people the www. site you can set the live_site var in your joomla configuration.php file.
after clicking login it would give me invalid token. but the url was http://mysite.com. I added www. and i was logged in correct after the invalid token. Right now i am testing the live_site var.
after using the live_site var i get:
Error
* Error loading feed data.
But the site loads fine.

Re: invalid token during logging in
Why is it that there is no one from Joomla self that has been able to give an exact fix concerning this issue. It is ridiculous that people would need to do a complete new installation,

Re: invalid token during logging in
I have been using Safari on a mac but have recently installed firefox to make use of the developer toolbar,
I can not login through Firefox to any of the joomla sites that we have been playing with because of the invalid token error BUT it still works fine with Safari.

Re: invalid token during logging in
Try turning off your cache in Global Configuration > System > Cache Settings
Read "Invalid token when using the Joomla! Login Module ".
See http://blog.opensourcenetwork.eu/blog/a ... gin-module
Let me know if that helps.

Not cache settings as we never enabled the cache. I have also tried enabling and the disabling the cache with no change.

I have had this same problem for a while now and relised that double clicking the login button will produce the "Invalid Token" error.

Re: invalid token during logging in
Many thanks, that did the trick for me !
mlipscomb wrote:I was having the same issue (on multiple templates).
One thing I noticed was the session handlers and gzip compression acting up. This was (strangely enough) also causing my site changes to take forever to show up.
My fix: remove all files in the /tmp directory (with the exception of index.html of course) and purge cache.
Now everything is back to normal. :-) Maybe this will help somoene.
FYI - using 1.5.10, sh404SEF, .htaccess (with mod_rewrite on), Agora forum and on 1and1 hosting - does it "buggier" than all that?! :-)

Re: invalid token during logging in
This is how I solved this problem:
1. Login to Joomla backend as administrator
2. Click on the Menus drop down and select the menu which contains the link to where the login form is located (e.g., main menu)
3. Select the specific menu item which contains the link (e.g., XYZ login)
4. Make sure that "SSL Enabled" is turned on, especially if your site has an SSL certificate and the registered user section is on the https server.

Re: invalid token during logging in
Hi,
I had same issue with the invalid token. What i did that fixed it for me is going into backend to my login form module and in its settings instead of just having Login Redirection Page set to select page and assuming it would go to frontpage i set it manually to frontpage. And success no more invalid token problems. I hope this will help someone
*well sad to tell you but problem is back

Re: invalid token during logging in
this may not work for all but just spent days trying to resolve this and the best i can come up with is dirty hack that seems to resolve the problem or well it did for me..
open this file: components/com_user/controller.php - take a copy as a backup in case it causes any issues on your site
find this code:
replace it with this:
amend the yourdomainname to match your domain then save and upload.
i've been unable to get a invalid token since i made this change hopefully no adverse affects but it works.

I have an old site I run footy tipping on Joomla 1.5.15 (upgrades tomorrow) and had this horrendous invalid token problem for everyone over the last month. ...I have tried your "mock", as mentioned above, 20 times trying to login and I see no invalids anymore.danielbprobert wrote:this may not work for all but just spent days trying to resolve this and the best i can come up with is dirty hack that seems to resolve the problem or well it did for me..

Thank you - works like a charm. Not sure what add-on caused the problem, but now I don't care!

Re: invalid token during logging in
The main problem with invalid token during registration seems to be with either the login form, or the url. I had Jumi redirecting my url, and that caused an invalid token upon login. Removing Jumi seemed to work, but so did putting it back in and switching out the main Joomla login form with that of another plugin.
Just some food for thought Good luck to all those out there with this problem, hope you all get it fixed as well!
