language/en_GB/en_GB.ini

template/index.php

modules/mod_footer/tmpl/default.php

Thank you for the answer.
However, I cannot locate these, as your response was too short for me to understand what you meant.

I enabled the template without the sample data, so I did not expect to see that "Designed By"

Is anyone out there able to give me a clearer answer?

Thanks.

Those files are in the folders located at the location at which you installed Joomla! and accessible via FTP on your site. They are not accessible (except for the index when in template view) via ADMIN. You need to have access to FTP, or unzip the files on your local computer and look there, then copy the files via FTP to your server location.

If you do not have FTP access....you're sunk!

Hey, if you don't have access to those files or any way to look at them to make changes, asking someone else isn't going to change the problem.

To make changes that are not able to be accomplished via the administrator back end, requires:

1. Access to the unzipped files on your local computer and the ability to open them, make changes, and save them.

Then,

2. FTP the changed files to the server location at which your site is installed, or
3. Access those files via FTP and change the files in the text editor of the FTP program.

There is no other "magic wand" by which the changes can be made.

Joomla! changes and modifications require a level of working knowledge of being able to access the various files used to generate the site and, in some cases, create "overrides" that are invoked to meet your design and content needs.

@ weboffice

I didn't see a link to your site, so I don't know which template you are talking about. Regardless, you should check with the template author to ensure you have the rights to remove this from the template.

From Template manager under Extensions choose the template name and Edit. You can either delete or change in the lower section of the Template HTML Editor. I hope I can be of help. ;p

For Marijn:

Look in the /template/index file, at the bottom. The footer may be hard-coded into that file. Remove it there.
