Breadcrumbs showing below menu

I want the breadcrumbs path to show on top of the main menu, just like in the tutorial, but it is showing below the main menu. I am still learning on the localhost so can't post the website. I tried moving the following code in index.php but to no avail. Thanks for your help in advance.

If you go to the joomla beginners tutorial pdf at

on page 45, it shows the breadcrumbs below the pills menu and above the main menu left aligned. I am able to get it below the pills menu by selecting position=user4 for breadcrumbs, but it is displaying on the right side(right aligned) instead of left aligned like in the tutorial. I tried all other positions but it does not display correctly. In the tutorial the position is left. When I assign left, it displays the breadcrumbs below the main menu. Hope that clarifies. Thanks.

Each chunk of code is a module. When you want to move them around "from above", you need to use the Module Manager. I mistakenly sorted these by title and got my page changed. Click on the far-left arrows to sort manually. Use the 3-dots image to click and drag modules in the order you want.
