JomSocial using GK Party Freak, Template (Help!)

Hi, im a total newb to joomla, still learning all the basics etc.
So i have recently started using Jomsocial, im totally new to it!
Ive installed the gk Party freak template but the jomsocial side is not working as its meant to.
the layout is completely messed up for it, and its not adding the GK jomsocial theme to it.
whenever i add the gk_style to the jomsocial template i get this error
Fatal error: Call to undefined method CConfig::getBool()
im really confused and desperate to get this template set up, but i dont know what im doing wrong.
can anyone who has jomsocial on their site, give me a hand in this.
