blank white preview screen

Hello, Noob here.
I have joomla installed and have very basic knowledge and a simple article up. I installed a new template, Senica from Joomlashack. IT gives me a white screen in the preview, I can switch back to the pre-installed templates and my info shows up. I can't figure out what is wrong, I follow the install instructions (i think)
Thanks for any help, this is pretty overwhelming.

A white screen is often (but not always) a php error...

Be sure your global config (server tab) is set for maximum error reporting, and perhaps you'll see what the error is.
Don't HACK the Joomla! core, Instead "Extend" and/or "Override."
Stay ON the update path.
