Removing <br> <br> from Category Blog layout (1.7)

I have read as many of the posts I could find about this issue, none of them seemed to give me the right answer.
One suggesting to edit the blog.php file in com_content\views\category\tmpl looked promising, but I couldnt find a reference to <br> at all in that file.

Here is what I am getting:
