Joomla: 1.5.26 (Fresh Install)

Method of installing: Extensions>Install/Uninstall

Result from above says template was installed successfully.

Problem: Template doesn't show up in the template manager.

I had the same problem uploading via FTP.

I have done many searches, but I'm either using the wrong search term or I'm just blind, because the only hits are on people migrating from Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 2.5 that has this issue.

I'm confident enough to change the db or work in PHP if need be.

Any and all advice will be appreciated.

For that templateDetails.xml file is responsible. But my logic says that if installation was successful all have to be good. Make sure that you are looking at site's templates not admin's.

If you are still having problems try posting the content of the the templatedtails.xml file here and we can probably spot the problem quickly, if it is there.

Hi there,

It seems that Joomla didn't like the header in the templateDetails xml file. I copied the example on the Docs site and it seems to be working now.

Thank you for all the replies.

Seems like it's usually something simple like that. Glad you found the solution.
