default page not used on forgot username/password

Hi all,
working on j3.2 and got a problem in using the default page for the "forgot your username/password" links.
I also use the joomla module "latest news" and there the default page is correctly used with all the modules displayed.
However can't get it working for the "forgot..." links in the login module.
Please advise.
