Hi there,

This is my first attempt at a template override *cringe* (it ain't going well).

What I want to do is utterly simple:
In my category toc, I would love to get rid of the numbering before the articles (minor) as well as create a space (by means of a paragraph, table row, hr, or image) between the filter and the actual list of articles (not so minor).

Do you think, I have been able to get that done? I've fiddled with view.html.php, and the default files in tmp - to no avail. I should add, that no matter WHAT change I make in the override files, it doesn't show. I've added <folder>html</folder> to my xml file (under files) but I don't think Joomla is actually LOOKING at the override files at all.

Even, when editing the core file (which I don't really want to do), I cannot for the life of me figure out how to move down the list of articles. I've spent HOURS on this and granted, it is nitpicking at this point... but still... :)

Oh.. and one more thing... where do I find 'title Filter' - I thought the logical place would be language/enGB/enGB_com_content.ini but apparently that ain't so, either. I'd like to change the filter text to read 'Search by Title'.

Thanks for any/all help!

Well, after a few more hours.... there are some answers.

1. My template overrides do work - it would help to use the correct structure :-[
2. The file to change in order to move the list of contents down is default_items.php (in case anyone else is looking for this)
3. I changed my mind on the numbering of articles - it's staying (same file, btw).

The only thing remaining that really bugs me is the text 'title Filter'. Have still not located that :(
