Which is the suitable extension for me?

Hi there,

I want to create a website for my school. on this website students should be able to upload their homework, summaries, solutions etc. (different datatypes like pdf, doc, ppt etc.). the uploaded files have to be linked with a rating system, so the uploaded files of good quality can be found (like the digg.com-system). what extension do i have to use to get to my goal?

i'm kind of a joomla-noob so i'd be really happy if someone would kind of tell me how to get these things done.

and sorry for my poor english.
