You may have to search for IE specific issues with overflow.
http://search.conduit.com/ResultsExt.as ... ow-x+in+IE

You will get replies of this type.

hi,

i have installed your plugin and works fine on this page

http://pnworldwide.net/recruitment/inde ... &Itemid=60

however, when i submit the form the page redirects to thankyou message showing all headers and modules?? i dont want to show them, i just want to keep the component/content area showing.

how can i maintain this?? do use jtarget and if i do, what would i put in the file to maintain only the content area showing

Looks like this is a specific case where JTarget is not at stake as it is a form.
Not sure we can do something there except maybe by hacking the form to redirect to the article where Jwrapperbot is used.

Hi Infograf,

Please have a look at http://www.groepskado.nl/index.php/nl/2 ... 3-12-23-10. How can I make sure that only the Community Builder registration form is loaded in the iframe and not the entire page?

I have used this code

Code: Select all

{wrap name="my_iframe" component="1" target="1"}http://www.groepskado.nl/index.php/nl/component/comprofiler/registers">{/wrap}
and these parameters
Component: yes
Internal IFrame Target: Top

Many thanks in advance

Hey,

first of all, thx for this great plugin.

I'm trying to integrate my Wordpress-Blog into my Joomal-Site with jwrapperbot.
It shows my WP-Blog in an iframe and it scales the height perfectly after I've loaded the site for the first time.

But when I click on a Link inside the iframe, the height of my WP-Blog changes but my Joomla-Site doesn't scale the height to the new size of my Blog.

Is it possible to send some kind of "refresh" from my Blog to Joomla so that it fits the height?

Thx for your help!

Cheers,
Linc.

Not sure this is possible as the height is defined by the article with the jwrapperbot call.
This is one case where it is better to define a fixed height and let the scroll be.

Hi friends, :)

I want to wrap a webpage which is more that the center column, so when I use the wrapper part of the page is hidden.
Is it possible to use this wrapper and hide the right bars, onle while displaying pages with the wrapper.

Thanks

You may be better off in this case using the wrapper menu item shipping with Joomla core.
Then assign the modules the way you want so that they free the column you don't want to display when the menu item is clicked.

Let's take you want to free the "left" column (this may be diffrenet for your template). Look for every module assigned to that column in the module manager, than edit each of them to NOT assign it to the wrapper menu item.

This works! I tried with one mod for one link and it dissappeared, guess I will have to do that for all the mods and all the links which use the wrapper.

What I have realised the in the user menu/ your details link opens without the right columns, so would it not be possible to setup somewhere that the wrapper module uses this template and not having to modify each mod for each link.

Thanks

hello, I need to insert the margins of the display page. I would not display the entire page but only a part of it. You probably need to do this in css template but I do not know what I write to the css file. Please help. Thank you

HELP!!
I hope this thread is still active as i need a expert opinion on how to correct an issue i have.
this link leads to a joomla page with your beautiful iframe plugin pointing to a url
http://74.53.149.96/~wolfgang/index.php ... &Itemid=28

The problem is that when i point to the url i need - it opens in a new window - any other URL is ok and the iframe works perfectly but this one opens new

What do i need to look for to troubleshoot this??
thanks

Weird.
This plugin loads an Iframe into an article.
What happens here is that it does not "Open" in a new window, it "redirects" to a new window displaying a non-joomla site. That site looks like using a specific javascript to prevent its display in somebody's else Iframe. A Hint there is that Right-click on this site does not display anything.

Infograph768,

Thank you for this excellent plugin and your many contributions to the Joomla community.

I believe I have fond a bug with JXtended Finder and jwrapperbot.

Joomla 1.5.15, jwrapperbot latest, JX finder 1.1

I manage a news site which uses jwrapperbot. When a search is conducted using JXtended the links in the search results contain urls with the search terms added on the end of the url string.

For instance, the url for this article:
http://readersupportednews.org/off-site ... -socialist

Would have the search terms added on the end like this:
http://readersupportednews.org/off-site ... lena+kagan

In the regular url, jwrapperbot performs normally, with all of the parameters (like width and height) added to the iframe.

However, when the search terms (in this case "?q=elena+kagan") are added to the url, jwrapperbot does not add the width/height or any other parameters to the iframe.

I will continue to work on a solution to this problem and post my findings. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Since JX Finder is a very popular extension, I believe that a solution would improve jwrapperbot.

I went into JX Finder's files and edited line 89 of components/com_finder/views/search/tmpl/default_results.php

original:
if ($this->params->get('hilight_content_search_terms', 1)) {
$item->url = $item->url.'&q='.implode('+', $tokens);
}

Altered by me:
if ($this->params->get('hilight_content_search_terms', 1)) {
$item->url = $item->url;//.'&q='.implode('+', $tokens);
}

This removed the "?q=SEARCH+TERMS" from the end of the url and corrected the problem with jwrapperbot not having parameters.

There is some documentation on using joomla's template override to make changes to default_results.php without hacking the original component file here:

http://jxtended.com/support/finder/cust ... -page.html

Since this seems to be more of a problem with JX Finder than jwrapperbot, I consider my problem solved. Though, I'm still curious if jwrapperbot could be made more resilient when it comes to url's like the one's experienced in this case.

Glad you solved your issue.
There is no param in jwrapperbot to clean the url.
At looking at the url you produce I remark that you may have changed some aspects of the bot.
look at the way the src is displayed with a <span> in the middle of the url.

Code: Select all

<iframe  id="blockrandom" name="contentframe" src="http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/hendrikhertzberg/2010/06/<span class="highlight">elena</span>-kagans-not-so-final-conflict.html" width="100%" height="4800" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true" scrolling="no" class="jwrapper"  >
<p>Sorry, your browser cannot display frames!</p>
</iframe>

Hmmm... A <span> in the middle of a url?

My first guess would be that one of our editors had some trouble with tinyMCE.

Just checked the article html and the source. I'm not seeing a <span> there...

JTarget is only to be used when a Joomla component is loaded in the Iframe. The css file, as stated must be present in the css folder of the template. It is unnecessary if the template has only one template.css file. In the case of milkyway, it IS necessary to add one the css files (blue, green, orange, red)
It will not work for any external url.
Adding a parameter which is not present in Jwrapperbot will not work either.

The purpose of JTarget is to be able to use any link present in a component display without loading the entire site again in the Iframe, which it would do per default.
Ok, I have the wrap set up as follows:

Code: Select all

{wrap component="1" target="none"}..index.php?option=com_timewriter{/wrap}
This correctly displays the component where I want it.

However, within the component, when I click on a link, which goes to "..index.php?option=com_timewriter&task=showReportMenu&fordate=2010-08-01" then does go to that page, however it loads it as the entire site page (header/logo/modules/etc) instead of only the component.

I also am not quite understanding how the target plugin works. It has something where you can input a name, so I input my desired iframe name, which is sf_sectiona. I tried using that instead of "none" on the wrap parameters, with no effect. it still loaded the whole site within the frame instead of only the component.

any ideas?

I have also tried the following:

Code: Select all

{wrap component="1" target="sf_sectiona"}index.php?option=com_timewriter{/wrap}
and

Code: Select all

{wrap name="sf_sectiona" component="1" target="1"}index.php?option=com_timewriter{/wrap}
and

Code: Select all

{wrap name="sf_sectiona" component="1" target="none"}index.php?option=com_timewriter{/wrap}
I have tried setting the jwrapperbot target settings to "no" and "_top" and "_blank"

No matter what I seem to do, it loads the whole site either within the frame, or depending on the setting, in a new page, when I click a link within the component, rather than just changing the component page within the frame.

target="0" will load the component links into the same Iframe.
BUT it will also load the full site in it.

target="1" is what has tbd as it will load the component in the site normally, replacing the Iframe.
target="2" will load the site and the comp in anew window.

The tag "Name" for a Target is only used when you want to target the IFrame with an external link (not a joomla "internal" link, thus replacing its existing content with another one.
A Joomla component "normal" links loads the whole site and except if you modify the component to add a target="nameoftheexistingIframe" to all the links it produces to indeed load in the Iframe named "nameoftheexistingIframe", you will not get the results you expect.

ahh, see that's what I was trying to avoid. I ended up just letting the component load it's own way instead of trying to frame it within a custom app i'm working on. I'm just going to style the component to match instead, because I haven't found any components where the component links don't either jump it out of the frame or load the whole site into the frame. :(

off to the css drawing board! Thanks for your quick reply!

I was able to use your plugin for a different thing I was doing with an external site and it worked nicely, and I think it would work fine for most other types of components that don't have a bunch of linking or that use javascript instead of html links, because the javascript links and buttons didn't load the whole site in the frame, only the actual html links. I was able to use it for a testimonials component as well.

And it works great in combination with a module called "plugin in module" where I wanted to display a small component in a sidebar.

Hi,

I need to include an iframe from an external CV-managing system. This system requires that any parameters in the url to the joomla page is also included in the URL to the iframe. Unfortunately they can't tell which parameters they will use.

Is this possible?

Example:
http://xtra.jebkb.se/index.php?option=c ... &Itemid=85

hello,

I have an issue that I can not resolve.

I have a search form in joomla as html, that calls an external site e.g http://site.com
in order to get the results.

I want those results to be wrapped in one of my joomla pages.

How can I accomplish this with your plugin?

I will post an example to clarify my problem.

I load a form in my home page in the main area of the template as html (via Jumi).
when someone clicks submit the user leaves my site and goes to the search results in the site http://aaa.com/searchresults.html.
I want these results to be wrapped in an iframe in a different page in my joomla site.
Is this possible?

If you are controlling http://aaa.com/searchresults, I guess you could target an existing Iframe/wrapper on your joomla site. Not sure you can do that on a different page than the original one though.
