Hi
I am stille having problems when using this plugin and Joomfish.
My default languages is dansih and the secondary is english.
when registrering in English all is fine.
But when registrering in danish the site name is missing in the mail to the user with the registration link, and in the first email for the admin user.
The E-mail to admin after user has activated hes/hers email, the sitename is correct but now there is no sender of the E-mail (which means it ALLWAYS ends in spam). sender is also missing in the email to klient telling him the account is approved...
do you have any ideas of the problem???

It is clearly specified in the installation instructions that the language parameters in joomfish language params (last icon on right) have to specify e-mail and name of sender for each language used.
When using JoomFish, the global configuration for each language should be parametered.

We now have your plug-in working just fine.

Here's a suggestion for an enhancement to your plug in. This suggestion was made to me by the person who's collaborating with me on our joomla site:

It would be great to include a link on the admin email to disapprove and delete the newly created accounts.

In other words, when the admin got the "do you want to approve the new account" message, she or he would have the choice of clicking on one of two links:

...approve link, which would enable the user account

...disapprove link, which would delete the user account

That way, you'd get rid of unwanted accounts in joomla that never passed admin approval.

Hi
My problem is that if I do that then the user get an error when clicking on the activation link:
JFTP::delete: Bad response

but it also says that the email is verified and now needs to be approved.

and it then sends 2 aproval emails to the admin. - the second one with an invalid activation string...
so in basics it works now ... dont now how but it is still a anoying that the user gets and error...

This plugin installs as any Joomla extension, through the Joomla installer.
administration=>Extensions=>Install/Uninstall
Browse to the zip and install.
Make sure it is published, read the posts above if any questions, and that's all.

Hi

I have this component and it runs fine.

But now I have to add .htaccess file into my site to prevent bad robots.

But this .htaccess file block "multilingual registration approval" and I can not send any approval mail.

Please, anyone see which line is blocking this plugin?

Code .htaccess

The first messages and mails are the default ones in your language/nl-NL/nl-NL.com_user.ini file, as if the plugin was not published.

You may want to change slightly the message for the user to reflect the new way of registration.
the token is
REG_COMPLETE_ACTIVATE=[...]. //add here in your language: An admin will then verify your mail and approve your registration.
and also change the content of the mail sent to the user in the same file
SEND_MSG_ACTIVATE= //change there
After activation you may login...etc.

After approval by an administrator, you will be able to login...etc.

Anyway, what happens is that, when the user clicks on the activation link, a new message is displayed telling the user that an admin has to accept his registration.
At the same time an e-mail is sent to the admin letting the choice to activate the user or not.
If the admin activates the user, a new mail is sent to the user letting the user know that login is now possible.

Hi, I never got the email with the choice to approve or deny the new user. the only email I get is the informing me about the new registration. it just says a new user has registered and here are the details. no links to click or anything.

can you help me, please?

thank you.

1. Are you sure the plugin is published?
2. Is the user directly registered? Look at the user manager.
3. Is the user (create a fake one with a real mail) is receiving a mail? Has that user clicked on the link in the mail to ask for registering thus loading the site and the message from Multilingual Registration Approval been displayed.
4. Are you sure an admin at least is set to receive site messages?
5. Are you using another login module than the default Joomla one?
6. Are you using Joomfish or Community Builder ?

yes, everything is set properly. I made many tests with many different existing email accounts and login names. only one registration turned the correct messages back. I am starting to think that this is some delay inside joomla or my server. is that possible? even though I did get one email with the link to approve the registrant, it arrived hours later.

thank you for the quick response.

Hi there,

We have a high profile corporate business website which the super-admins of the website create new users through the back-end. I am wanting to edit the email which is sent out from when a super-admin / admin creates new users to the new user explaining details of username & password. I am wanting to add some text and stuff to that email.

Would this plugin in any way help. Have you got anything that can?

This plugin is no use in that case.
It's much more simple for you.
You just have to edit the lines in the language file.
administrator/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_users.ini

NEW_USER_MESSAGE=Hello %s,\n\n\nYou have been added as a User to %s by an Administrator.\n\nThis e-mail contains your username and password to log in to %s\n\nUsername: %s\nPassword: %s\n\n\nPlease do not respond to this message as it is automatically generated and is for information purposes only.
NEW_USER_MESSAGE_SUBJECT=New User Details

Keep the %s in the right order as these represent variables. Save as utf8 with your text editor if the string contains any non-ASCII characters (i.e. in a non-English language).
Last but not least, keep a copy of your changes as this language file may have to be updated in a future release of Joomla, thus deleting your custom string(s).

I was looking in the language/en-GB/en-GB.com_users.ini and not the language file in the administrator folder. Thank you.

Would you know a way of changing the URL displayed in this email also. At the moment it is pointing to the root domain. I am wanting to add a string to the root domain. Dont know where to find that though?

???

If I understand well you want another url there.
Then change
This e-mail contains your username and password to log in to %s
replacing the %s by the url of your choice

Thanks heaps for the help.
It has been a life saver.

1 more question.... is there a way I can change the %s and where each item is placed.

For instance i want the URL under the Username and Password, though each code is seen as %s and they arent specific?

Use %1$s , %2$s , etc.

In this case
%1$s = Name of user
%2$s = Name of site
%3$s = Url of site
%4$s = Username
%5$s = Password
The exact same string coud be written this way.
NEW_USER_MESSAGE=Hello %1$s,\n\n\nYou have been added as a User to %2$s by an Administrator.\n\nThis e-mail contains your username and password to log in to %3$s\n\nUsername: %4$s\nPassword: %5$s\n\n\nPlease do not respond to this message as it is automatically generated and is for information purposes only.

Just move the %#$s around as you like.

I have a website at www.childrensmeetinghousemontessori.com

There is a secure area and I have installed an extension, Multilingual Registration Approval to control approval of users as they sign up for accounts.

At times, if someone is already logged in to the website, they OTHER users will log on and be greeted with "Hello Ashley Worthington" and have access to the registered-only area.

So, for example, when the client sends out their weekly link to the site via email, someone clicks on the link, if someone ELSE is already logged on, the person clicking the LINK is logged on as that same user.

Ever seen that before?

I do not understand what you mean by "for example, when the client sends out their weekly link to the site via email, someone clicks on the link".
I am not sure this is related to the plugin as, apart from registration, it has no impact on Joomla login behaviour.

I do not understand what you mean by "for example, when the client sends out their weekly link to the site via email, someone clicks on the link".
Client sends out a mass email to all parents with a link to the website
Person clicks on link
If someone else is already logged on, the person clicking the link finds that they are already logged on as the other person, without having to log on themselves.

I've never seen this in any of my Joomla installations, so I am trying to eliminate the source.

Hi,

I am really frustrated with this plugin. It seems that it would be great if it worked for me but I have spent all day trying to figure out how to get the final "REGISTRATION APPROVED" email to go to the user once the admin has approved the account.

I have read pretty much the entire thread and I can't figure out where to put the jdoc:include type= "message" / information that I keep seeing everywhere on the site.

Can someone help?

Hotgreeks.....I found it in the index.php file under my template (JA Purity). It's in the CONTENT area. Go to Edit - Find in the index.php file and put in the word "message." It took me right to the line <jdoc:include type="message" />. Hope this is the same for your template.

Now I have a question. I can't find where to change the verbiage of the first email that is sent to the new registrant. I've checked the en-GB_user.ini and en-GB-users.ini files and don't see anything except the second email. Am I supposed to add it somewhere? Can you point me to the correct file? Thanks for your help.

I've checked the en-GB_user.ini and en-GB-users.ini files and don't see anything except the second email. Am I supposed to add it somewhere? Can you point me to the correct file? Thanks for your help.

TIP:
The first messages and mails are the default ones in your language/xx-XX/xx-XX.com_user.ini file, as if the plugin was not published.

You may want to change slightly the message for the user to reflect the new way of registration.
the token is
REG_COMPLETE_ACTIVATE=[...]. //add here in your language: An admin will then verify your mail and approve your registration.
and also change the content of the mail sent to the user in the same file
SEND_MSG_ACTIVATE= //change there
After activation you may login...etc.

After approval by an administrator, you will be able to login...etc.

Hi

Is there any way to set the plugin up to redirect to a page?

All is working fine but after a user creates an account and is taken back to the homepage the informative bit of text is a bit swamped by the rest of the site. I'd ideally like to take them to a page with just the informative text.

Cheers!

Not that I know at that stage.

Change the CSS format of your message part in the template, that should do.

I have joomla 1.5.5. The original registrations works fine.

1.- user register
2.- user received a email confirmation
3.- user confirms the account and can login
4.- admin received a email information

I have installed this plugin and i have problems.

1.- user register
2.- user received a email confirmation
3.- user confirms the account (gets an error -> Can't initiate mail function)
4.- admin doesn't receive mail...

I have an admin which is setup to receive system messages, and I have publish the plugin and inserted the jdoc stuff in my template.

Please help :-)
