Remository - Add Link to a Spesific Container
Hi, all!
I have to add links to various containers in Remository, so that each container is accessible through a different menu. Each menu is shown on various pages. And each menu must be shown when the link to that specific container is clicked.
But in Add New Item in menu the only possibility is to add a link to the main page of Remository.
So I added the link as an External Link. But that way the menu where I came from disappeared, as though I am not on that link.
Does anyone have a workaround on this?

Hi, Mr. Rangelov,
Have you specified that particular menu to show up when Remository is loaded? If not, how do you expect it to show up? If yes, you should not lay much hope on its disappearance when the link in the other menu is clicked.
Quite a dilemma, isnt' it?

Hi!
Yes, I specified that particular menu to show up when user click on each item of that menu. And I expect this menu to be visible when I click on the link to container, because this link is from that menu. But the menu is just disappearing.
So what do you suggest?

OK, this would definitely solve the problem with the disappearing menu. But the only possibility is to add link to the main page of Remository, while I need a link to a specific container.
Do you know how to add internal link to a specific container in Remository?

Just guessing - add internal as Alias

No result with Alias link. The same behavior of the menu - disappeared when I click on either the link to container or the alias link to container.

Re: Remository - Add Link to a Spesific Container
I solved the issue. I created an Internal link to Remository main page. Then open phpMyAdmin and changed the URL of the link to the container. Then setup the menu to appear on the new link. And it is now working as expected.
Thank you Imago for your help!

Let me install Remo and see for myself - what version are you using? Two years ago I have prepared an UTF-8 version for it, so never used with 1.5.x

Since to be called a novice is an understatement for myself, could you please explain how exactly you managed to create internal links toy remository files?
I am at my first attempt at a joomla site and i too used external links
Thanks in advance

Re: Remository - Add Link to a Spesific Container
1. Go to Menu and select a menu.
2. Click on Add new button.
3. Select Internal link - Remository - this will create a link to the main page of Remository.
4. Open phpMyAdmin - you need access to Control Panel of your Hosting or to install a component for connection to database - see Joomla.org Extensions.
5. Open the jos_menu table (or xxx_menu where xxx is the corresponding prefix, jos is the default prefix)
6. Click Browse and find the newly added link to Remository.
7. Click Edit and change the URL. To find what URL you need - go to your site and click on the Remository link, browse to the category you need and copy the url from Browser.
8. Click save.
Now you have an internal link to a Remository Category. You can even point this link to a specific file.
Cheers!

Thaaaaaaaaaaanksssssssssssssssss
However, please excuse my disrespect, isn't this again a sort of a not totally internal link?
I mean , the link i will be copying will be something like
http://www.thiIsMyCurrentHostingService/myfile
So when i change hosting , this link will need to be changed, won't it?
Thanks again in advance

People give advice on how you can use only the built-in Joomla SEF to do so would be at the end of .html linkssrangelov wrote:1. Go to Menu and select a menu.

And then put komponentt Remository his links are not similar to everyone else on my site, that is, the site links with the end http://may-sute.com/component.html as a component Remository not heard that you can use the file router.php do that would have a component Remository also had links with the ending .html, or even what options nebut, and you do not want to put extra party SEF component
Generally, as can be done in the component Remository to link URL to an end so .html
