Modifying External Links

I wish to add OnClick="" to all of my external links to track them with google analytics.
I am unable to find the place in code where the actual link tag is being generated. I saw the com_menus in administrator, but that just create the menus to edit Url or external links. Where can I change the place where the external links are generated?
I looked for plugins to do this, but they didn't work.

This plug-in works only for links inside an article. It doesn't work for external links in the menu, for instance.
It's better than nothing, but I still want to do better than that.
