The correct solution for setting the image for your page is to set the correct Open Graph tag for each page. You can learn more about the Open Graph tags on Facebook's page below. These tags also let you set the title, description, and even type that the page is about (book, music, blog post, band, etc) in addition to the image:
http://developers.facebook.com/docs/opengraph/To properly set these tags, you need to set the correct Open Graph tag into the head section of your template. The above can be accomplished, on a page by page basis manually (using similar suggestions to DullJohnny above), or by using Joomla extensions for Facebook integration. We're the creators of JFBConnect, listed on the JED at
http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions ... ation/7215JFBConnect has great Open Graph support, so that in an article, a template file, or other places you can simply type {JFBCGraph image=http://domain.comlinktoimage.jpg} and we'll set the right image, or you can set any of the other Open Graph tags.
JFBConnect also has options to automatically add a Like/Comment box to articles on your site, set the first image in an article as the image for that page, options to set the default Open Graph tags for every page on your site, and a lot more. There are other options out there to a lot of these individual features, but if you're going to really integrate Facebook on your site, I'd highly recommend choosing some Facebook-specific extension instead of going it alone.
Hope this helps, and good luck!
