This post is for the Zap • CSV Virtuemart CSV Export Component. Please use this thread for Support and Feature Requests.

Currently we have CSV Export for Google Base, in addition to the Standard Product Export. We are currently working on adding Shopzilla and Nextag Support. Let us know what features you would like added and we may include it in future releases!

Description:
This component was made for retailers. It will import and export your products (not for downloadable products yet). If you have more than a few products then you know how much time it can take to edit a large number of products with a web interface. Using Zap CSV, you can download all of your products to a csv file and use the power of excel to manage your product data. There are other csv utilities available and they are great components as well. Zap CSV has been made specifically for retail products and makes for a quick install and is very easy to use.

Here is the Component link: Download

All you have to do is to sign up for our newsletter and once you confirm your email address you will be taken to a page with the download link.

The newsletter signup is on the right, underneath "Open a Project"

One small question. Is the component, GPL'ed or not? I will move it to the Open Source forums. There are a few more threads of developers which have their support thread there.

This csv Virtuemart component is not open source. We plan on developing it for awhile and then charging for it once we have a dozen or more pre-formatted exports. This will make it commercial. Anyone that signs up for it before that time will get all future upgrades for free.

I think that this is the right forum - right?

There are multiple threads about commercial extensions, don't mind those. Why would we allow closed source support here on the forum?

Hi

I downloaded the component and it installed without any problems, only the component does not work for me.

I tried it on 2 different sites, receiving the same type of errors.

Clicking on 'template' submenu gives the following error:

Fatal error: Class 'mosMenuBar' not found in /customers/mysite.com/mysite.com/httpd.www/test/administrator/components/com_zapcsv/toolbar.zapcsv.html.php on line 13

Clicking on 'import' submenu gives the following error:

Fatal error: Class 'mosMenuBar' not found in /customers/mysite.com/mysite.com/httpd.www/test/administrator/components/com_zapcsv/toolbar.zapcsv.html.php on line 63

Clicking on 'export' submenu gives the following error:

Fatal error: Class 'mosMenuBar' not found in /customers/mysite.com/mysite.com/httpd.www/test/administrator/components/com_zapcsv/toolbar.zapcsv.html.php on line 55

Clicking on 'about' submenu gives the following error:

Fatal error: Class 'mosMenuBar' not found in /customers/mysite.com/mysite.com/httpd.www/test/administrator/components/com_zapcsv/toolbar.zapcsv.html.php on line 69

I am using Joomla 1.5.7 and Virtuemart 1.1.2

Any suggestions how I can get this component to work?

Hi Cjes,

I think we have it figured out. Most people have not had a problem but we found out why some may ahve. All new downloads will not have this problem. Can you email me and I'll send you an updated file? My address is my first name with zapbangdone.com.

Thanks.

Bill

I just sent the latest version. Did that work? I think we found the bug that some people are experiencing.

Are you using Joomla 1.5? That seems to be an issue with a lot of people. Right now it does not work with 1.0 but we are working on a new version for both 1.0 and 1.5.

Sending the new file now.

bill i even signed up for the newsletter with another email address... it is not working for me...its obvious i am doing something wrong on my end...as i said previously all i did was export the shop with the sample prod's, then i simply replaced the prods with the new info and then imported back into the shop... again say's succesfull import; but, nothing is there... what did i do wrong ? ? ? i will be more than happy to give you backend access to my site along with the csv file... any idea's what i am doing wrong...

when i exported it initially i did nothing except go to the export tab and hit export... i would really like this to work- i just got through another site where i ended up manually inputting 1,600 products--ugh!!! i would like to layout the shop in a spreadsheet and then dump it in the shop...

thanks again...
trey

Hello, I am having the same problem as treybraid, did this ever get resolved?? I downloaded and installed the component 15/12/2008, so I should have the most up to date version.

Thanks

Can you tell me what Joomla and Virtuemart version you are using? Also, if you know, what PHP version?

We are having trouble reproducing the error but we are working on it today.

Thanks.

This might be another issue with the component--- in my case i have main catergoies laid out then sub- categories along with sub- menu items. When i export my shop contents it only picks the main category items and not everything.
Example:
Ethernet Switches> Phoenix> Managed > Lean ( as you can see 4 levels including the main category )
When you export it doesn't pick up the top 2 ( Ethernet Switches and Phoenix )

Someone else had emailed me about a similar problem and I think that it will be resolved in the new release we are almost done with. I'll let you know when it's ready.

Thanks for the input!

Hi,

Did I miss the link to the documentation somewhere? :geek:
The document that describes how to use this, which kind of CSV formats it supports and how to map the tables?

Tx,

D

??? Have their been any additional update's to the component. Bill I emailed you and haven't heard back from you. Will the new version allow multiple sub_category's... I have 2 shops I am working on: one with 2,500 and the other with 29,750 products--- I have them laid out in the spreadsheet ready to be imported into the shop?

**************************************************************************
As stated above I have : category> sub category 1 > sub category 2 > sub category 3> product.
**************************************************************************
Also if we manually add a picture to the image column-- what type of filepath do we need to put there... can we arbitrarily put a filepath say: /images/store/products/sample.jpg

Please let me know
Thanks Again

Trey

Hi,

today i downloaded zap-csv.

i got some errors. Can you give me a solution.

i am jusing joomla 1.5.9 and virtuemart 1.1.3.

first error opening zap-csv:
Notice: Undefined variable: mosConfig_absolute_path in C:\wamp\www\joomla\administrator\components\com_zapcsv\admin.zapcsv.php on line 10
Warning: require_once(/plugins/system/legacy/menubar.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\wamp\www\joomla\administrator\components\com_zapcsv\admin.zapcsv.php on line 10
Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/plugins/system/legacy/menubar.php' (include_path='.;C:\php5\pear') in C:\wamp\www\joomla\administrator\components\com_zapcsv\admin.zapcsv.php on line 10

this one is resolved by installing lagacy-mode in joomla. I now can open zap-scv. Is there an 1.5 version? Or what am i doing wrong?

Unther templates i get 2 errors:

opening new: Notice: Undefined variable: tpl in C:\wamp\www\joomla\administrator\components\com_zapcsv\views\template\view.html.php on line 91

opening demo-template:
Notice: Undefined variable: tpl in C:\wamp\www\joomla\administrator\components\com_zapcsv\views\template\view.html.php on line 115

in the exportfile demo-template:
Notice: Undefined variable: csv in :\wamp\www\joomla\administrator\components\com_zapcsv\models\export.php on line 186
all exports (inclucing popular) gave some undefined errors

i dont know iff this is beause off legacymode?

Is there an template to export ( and import ) all products including attributes (price, catagories, picture etc)?
Can i make this template if not?
How? is there an manual?

thanks

Hotse
