Hey everyone

I've been trying to install the JCE Editor 1.5 on Joomla 1.5. I have no problems with the Component, but the plugin gives me the "Allowed Memory Size", and I just can't install it.

The documentation says that I can manual install the plugin, but I really don't understand the explanation. It says to upload the files to plugins/editors (which I've done) and then go to the JCE admin component and click "install". But that install button just goes to another intaller window that gives me the same "Allowed Memory Size" error.

Have anyone tried installing the plugin manually, and how can I do it?

Just tried it and it seemed to work.

1. Unzip the zip file locally locally

2. In your ftp browser, navigate to /plugins/editors

3. copy the contents of the newly unzipped folder (but not the folder itself) over to the remote server.

4. Voilà!

A long time ago I wrote an article for this very problem. The article is for Joomla 1.0, but I believe the issue is the same in 1.5.

I hope it helps.

The JCE 1.5 Admin Component has built in support for installing the plugin (at least the database part). See this:
