I started with the contest entry and it looked great. I then saw the 1.5 stable version so downloaded and installed it.

My sites not in the web root, so I first ran into the "no css" problem. I've corrected that with the fix specified above. Does making this fix bugger up SEF?

Now that I have styling, I see that even though I have the "Show Banner" option set to Yes, the page is rendering as if the option is set to No. I tried switching it back and forth with no change. Any suggestions?

Its a beautiful and clean template otherwise; nice work!

EDIT: The original version the large top banner image was just installed by default. Is there something I have to do in the admin menu to get such a banner up right away?

Hi Feldon,
You'll need to publish an image into the banner module position. We removed the template banner system for the stable version and chose to us either a static image, Joomla's default banner component/module, or a 3rd party banner module.
Sorry for any difficulties and thanks for the kind words!

I noticed someone asking about the changing size in the left column when right column is removed. The response is that the width used by the disappearing column is redistributed evenly between the remaining columns.

Can someone tell me where this is handled? I, too, want to make the left sidebar a fixed width since the right sidebar appears on some pages in my site but not on others.

Hi guys, i'm new to Joomla and tried this template on http://gemeinde.normandanner.de/

Two Questions: Where in the code to i find the width of the middle section? I managed to finde the correct numbers for the left and right column via a live-preview css.app (im no css pro and that helped me a lot), but i don't find the variable that says how broad the middle part can be, as you see the text takes up only half the space.

Is it in template1 or in the theme css? or somewhere completely else?

Next Question: How do you add headers? I had to do it via the logo.png, which i replaced with a logo.jpg in the code to save space. But i guess that is not the standard way to include a header-banner, like the one that the template-creator page shows..... i tried to do a banner and place it at the position that is called "Banner" but that didn't work ... maybe i changed too much in the code (like the widht and height of the logo.png) and using the banner module would be the right thing?

so plz help me with my 2 questions:

Main Body broadness and Adding a header :)

For the width of the content articles, I can't tell you the exact width because it will change dynamically.

However, you should check your Home menu item settings. It looks as if you have #Leading articles parameter set to zero (0), and the Columns parameter set to two (2) under the Parameters - Basic section. That will make your articles appear in two columns, with no articles at full width.

i found your settings under menu-> mein menu -> first category under that main menu.

I set it from 2 to 1 and thought that was the problem ,but nothing changed :(

Maybe i should mention that by making the 1st and 2nd column smaller and moving them to the border of the screen, i made the size of the middle menu bigger than it is normally. Do you still think that it should auto-adjust? it doesn't :/

damn i thought your tip was the one :(
