One of the many nice things about this template is the actual content.  Instead of a bunch of latin or random Joomla info the content actually showcases the template.  Something that should be included in the final default template.

This is only possible on their demo site.
A template released with official joomla release will display the default sql content.

Just finished testing with this new version and uhh....wow....

Flexibility?
Accessibility?
Documentation?
Simple customization?
Tutorials?
SEO?
HTML Validates?
CSS Validates?
Pure table-less design?
Translation?
Customizable banner from the front end?

Very nice work.  ;D

Yep - have to agree - WERRY nice work on the update and the template as it now appears and behaves.

One thing though.. (svn 9224 as "engine")

Found one warning message when using it on a fresh install with no sample data installed ->> after creating the first article i get this 1:
Code:
Warning: Missing argument 2 for ContentHelperRoute::getCategoryRoute(), called in ..../templates/pp_joomlapraise/html/com_content/article/default.php on line 150 and defined in ..../components/com_content/helpers/route.php on line 75

guess you have a fix for that one so i don't let it affect my evaluation of the improvements i see in the template ;)

Great work indeed folks...

Uh thanks  :-[

When in fireboard, can you add a "no_hide=0" to the url and refresh?
I think the panel should close then.

I'll repack the template in a few hours when I'm back home.  ;)

Updated and tested the new files:

Warning: Missing argument 2.... = Error is gone. :)

Hovewer, the problem with the edit panel opening when in forum view is still around...

Tried to add "no_hide=0" - but it did not close the panel..

Beside this minor error, everything looks reall nice now :)

How did you install fireboard on 1.5?

Installation doesn't work for me (even with legacy mode enabled)  :-\

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Installed by just uploading it via the installer and followed instructions.. Remember to unzip the downloadpack first

Btw.. seems like the error with the missing argument is still "live" on the zip package for the template without the front end edit panel..

Hi Pixelpraise

I've come late to the party on this one. I like it a lot, the tutorials are excellent.

The option to have the menu on the left certainly puts this in my top two. Just can't decide which is best.

Thanks for all your hard work...it is appreciated.

Just one question (request?) with the flexibility to change the banner, can it randomly select from a set?

One more thought...Is it possible to have a font size changer for accessibility compliance?

I'm trying to use your template on my website but I have a problem with some pages. Here is an example: http://www.seap.usv.ro/ct/portal/Joomla ... hp/membrii
I'm waiting your suggestions.
Great work, thanks.

Hi there,

Which version on the template are you using?
If you are using the one without the control panel, please download it again as there was an error :)

If you are using the one with the cp, turn error reporting to "maximum" in the joomla config.

Hello,

I'm trying to make the template to only display a menu on the left side, so i enabled the "switch layout" feature and disabled all the components on the right side.
But suddenly the left menu is much wider now the right column is gone.
Is there any way i can change it to the same width as it is when the right column is visible?

PS i'm using the version without frontend the frontend control panel.

Thanks in advance :)

I have a problem. I installed your template on a brand new SVN joomla (updated today), and I get this error:

  JDatabaseMySQL::query: Table 'joomla.svn_template_banner' doesn't exist SQL=
                        SELECT file FROM svn_template_banner WHERE menu_item = '1' LIMIT 1

  Call stack
  # Function Location
  1 JSite->render() D:\www\joomlasvn\trunk\index.php:79
  2 JDocumentHTML->render() D:\www\joomlasvn\trunk\includes\application.php:168
  3 JDocumentHTML->_loadTemplate() D:\www\joomlasvn\trunk\libraries\joomla\document\html\html.php:237
  4 require_once() D:\www\joomlasvn\trunk\libraries\joomla\document\html\html.php:304
  5 templateBanner() D:\www\joomlasvn\trunk\templates\pp_joomlapraise\index.php:257
  6 JDatabaseMySQL->loadResult() D:\www\joomlasvn\trunk\templates\pp_joomlapraise\frontend_admin\banner.php:35

I suspect some sort of catch-22: the template runtime needs a table that is created from the SuperAdmin control panel, but the Control Panel can be open only after the template is active....

Angelo.

Hi ExnuX,
If there are no modules in the right or left module position, that column collapses its width is evenly distributed into the 2 remaining columns, so in your case the collapsed right column's width is evenly distributed in the left and main columns.
If these parameters aren't quite what you desire, please feel free to hack the template.  It's yours to experiment with :)

I seem to be having a problem with the forums page of my site. http://tbet.mgarf.com/index.php/Forums it does not show properly and the frontend cpanel becomes part of the page. Also is their a was to make it so that my banner goes from the right to the left (theirs a small black gap on the left of the banner) Finally the news seems to be not appearing on the main page

Hi mrg11545,
I think the cause may be the sef, we'll test on our end and release an update if necessary.
Could you test by turning off your sef and checking if everything looks correct?
On the banner image, when using the 960px width, you can either use a 940px wide image, or if you'd like the banner to span use a 960px wide image and in 960.css find #banner and add
Code:
margin-left:-10px;
margin-right:-10px;

Oh, sry, sense it was on I assumed you turned it on :)
SEF stands for "Search Engine Friendly" urls, which means Joomla takes a link like:
http://tbet.mgarf.com/index.php?option= ... &Itemid=27 (just an example)
and turns it into:
http://tbet.mgarf.com/index.php/about-us (which is much more friendly to search engines like Google)
To turn off:
* login to http://tbet.mgarf.com/administrator/ (if you're a super admin)
* In the top navigation go to: Site > Global Configurations
* On the right, under SEO Settings: make sure both 'Search Engine Friendly URLs' and 'Use Apache mod_rewrite' are turned off and Save
