Clean and easy template.

One suggestion is to disable the navigation.

I must say I very much liked the layout of this template so I installed it but found a problem with "/mod_syndicate/default_item.php", I believe it was, during the installation. But I was able to overcome it for a successful install.

However, "Read more..." doesn't seem to work for me in this template while it does with other templates in the same site. Any suggestions?

I get an installation error: "kodadesign/html/mod_syndicate/default_item.php' does not exist"  :'(

That was the error I encountered, heltsonika. I "overcame" it by unzipping the template file, modifying the "templateDetails.xml" file to delete any instances of mod_syndicate since syndication wasn't important to me at this time. Then I re-zipped the template and successfully installed it with no errors.

Regarding the "Read more" problem, I opened /kodadesign/html/com_content/frontpage/default_item.php and changed the "readmore" instance near the end of the file to reflect the way "Beez" is coded in that area. It works fine now!

First I would like to thank you jmm for your e-mail and your effort! I will look at your alternative  :)

Bratanon - I love the template! I don't know the requirements for an official Joomla template but you got my vote! Clean, simple and fast!

Yes i do, I downloaded the template couple days ago and the read more link on the front page doesn't show at all!  It is also the case in the demo.  The 1st article "Welcome to Joomla!" should have a read more link but it doesn't.  Can you help in solving the problem.

Your template by the way is supper and would love to use it if you can help with the read more link.  Thanks for your hard work.

Yes, i was able to fix this last night.  I'm at work right now and don't have the code handy.  But the problem is in the html > Breadcrump folder with the default.php file.  I was able to look at the milky template and compare it to your code.

I will post the code when i get home in about 1 hr!  - Thanks for fixing the Read more link - i see it is working on the demo now.  Has the download file been updated?

Replace the below code with the code in templates\kodadesign\html\mod_breadcrumbs\default.php and it will solve the breadcump problem.

Code: Select all

<?php // no direct access
defined('_JEXEC') or die('Restricted access'); ?>
<span class="breadcrumbs pathway">
<?php for ($i = 0; $i < $count; $i ++) :

	// If not the last item in the breadcrumbs add the separator
	if ($i < $count -1) {
		if(!empty($list[$i]->link)) {
			echo '<a href="'.$list[$i]->link.'" class="pathway">'.$list[$i]->name.'</a>';
		} else {
			echo $list[$i]->name;
		}
		echo ' <span style="font-family: tahoma;">»</span> ';
	}  else { // when $i == $count -1
	    echo $list[$i]->name;
	}
endfor; ?>
</span>

On my laptop this template requires full screen to display it's full width. I would prefer not to have a horiz. scroll bar.
Thanks for your time.

Your more than welcome bratanon.  I'm actually a PeopleSoft Application Developer but don't have any PHP knowledge except just playing around with the files.  I guess if you know one programing language then you know them all !!  :-\

Anyway, i'm glad i was able to help. I'm no designer so i would really suck if i decided to do my own template.  And as i said before, I love your template, simple, easy and fast to load.  I hope you will be in the top 5!  - Good Luck...

EDIT:  I forget to ask you this - where do you download the last SVN? Is that the one updated every day at midnight? Can you post the link here?  thanks!

I've been playing with this template (and some others) and I find that when I have a menu item that uses the alias as a link
Example: http://www.mydomain.com/index.php/section-alias-name

and I follow that link, the page that I get to has no css applied to it.

However, if I go directly to the page using the actual link
Example: http://www.mydomain.com/index.php?optio ... ction&id=1

the css is applied fine. I also see in the demo page given in the start of this thread that all the links used are of the actual link kind and not the alias.

How do I make Joomla use the actual link and not the alias link?

Kind regards,
Rachel

Sorry, but I really dont know what you are talking about. You could try to post a new topic in the Joomla 1.5 section.
