Post subject:  Template Contest Entry - [RedEvo_Aphelion] v1.1.0.7!!

Here I am - just on time!  :-[

Features:

  • Three Columns Layout
  • Fully collapsible module positions: user1, user2, user3, user4, top, left and right
  • Tableless CSS/XHTML valid architecture
  • Cross-browser compatible
  • Originally designed icons
  • Text resizer
  • Language files enables easy editing languages used in the template, for example 'You are here', and 'Change text size to large'

Parameters:

  • Four colour themes: Orange, Purple, Green and Blue
  • Two width options: Fixed and fluid.
  • Style switcher options: show or hide the style switchers
  • Logo Style options: use plain text or image for logo

Image

Template overrides:
  • Use template overriding to convert the tables in "Newsflash" module to be divs
  • Use template overriding to change the class of the Author span from 'small' to 'articleauthor', so that I'm able to style it with a small icon

Download: http://redevolution.com/templates/redevo_aphelion.zip

Change the Logo Image

If you'd like to change the logo to your own:

1. Make sure your logo file is saved as a png-24 file.
2. Upload it to /templates/redevo_aphelion/images folder.
3. Open template.css file - Find
Code:
a#sitename1{
width:258px; /* maximum 500px */
height:52px; /* maximum 68px */
}

And change the width and height to the width and height of your logo image.

As said in the note, the logo file should be less than  500px wide and less than 68px high.
It should be transparent png-24.

Any other questions please let me know  :)

Hope you'll like it  ;)

Wow, that is really nice  :D Great Design. Just one additional comment, the hover of the "top - menu" doesn't seem "right" to be.

Great work again :)

The "fluid" feature is exceptional :)

MuffinDCC & joomlord, thanks for your feedbacks  :) I like your design as well, MuffinDCC.

I've just added some other features to this template (always a last minute person!  :-[), including a text sizer, a real time colour theme chooser and a parameter to control showing/hiding the style switchers.

Enjoy!

This looks amazing  :) In IE6, it seems that there is a problem with the "latest news" and "popular" modules though. They are not lining up properly.

Nice but the bottom is all screwy in IE7

in IE7 I see a problem even in the central part of the site, where you see the component, it's too narrow when you resize the window and the text is hidden

Hi, thanks very much for pointing it out. Did you mean the icons are not lining up properly with the news items? If so the problem has already been fixed! Thanks again. :pop

I'm still going through everyone's points here... Hopefully I'll have them all sorted and then I'll update the download zip file. I'll let you know when it's ready  :P

I knew I'm gonna miss something.... :-[

I tried to find a document about writing the language files but couldn't find any... Anybody please kindly let me know how to write a proper one? For now I'll try to learn from others' files...

I'll include the error message as well, thanks for reminding me  :)

:'(

I've viewed in IE7 and it seems to be OK? Would you please provide me a screeshot or something? However I've narrowed down the options of "template width" to be "Fixed" and "Fluid" only, hope that'll do the trick (fingers crossed!)

nope, I've simply resized the window in my IE7 browser and the mainbody seems correct now, no problem for that issue. Can I download a new one fixed now?

I've included the error message! 8)

I've edited the Admin language file but it doesn't seem working  :-\ (See my new zip file) Would somebody please kindly give me a hand on this? Thanks in advance!

I noticed that the text in the search module seems a bit off, might need a bit of padding so it fits in nicely :)

in version 1.2 a new tiny feature has been added:

Use template overriding to change the class of the Author span from 'small' to 'articleauthor', so that I'm able to style it with a small icon  ;)

Thanks very much for your time!

I've finally found out what was wrong... The initial file names were "en-GB.tpl_RedEvo_Aphelion.ini" which weren't working, now I've changed it to "en-GB.tpl_redevo_aphelion.ini" and they're working  ;) So the language file names should be all lowercase then.
