if I switch the template back to the default milky way template and do the same thing, it works, so thinking its a problem with your template, not the nightly build.

On further looking  it seems to be something to do with having the search engine friendly option on...  - and like I said, the same settings work fine with the default miky template...

I can verify this behavior.  When using search OR going to weblinks, newsfeeds, or FAQ entries there is a problem and the resulting pages are shown, but not in the template  (there is a generic page).

This is with builds of Joomla newer than 1.5rc2 (nightly builds or SVN) ... and the items in question (search, faq, newsfeeds, etc.) all work fine on the included beez and rhuk_milkyway templates.

This only happens when SEF is turned on.  With SEF turned off, all works OK.

==============================================================

This error shows up in the httpd errorlog related to this problem:

File does not exist: /var/www//component, referer: http:///component/search/joomla.html

and

File does not exist: /var/www//news-feeds, referer: http:///news-feeds/7-internet.html

(where and are the actual path and site for the install)

That is a Joomla 1.5 issue, not a template one.

Joomla devs!! Is it true?

Any workaround? I am secretly using this great template in my "eat upon other's hardwork" webiste  :P

HERE IS THE FIX
*************************************************************************************************************

In file which is located in modules\mod_mainmenu\helper.php, at line 272, replace

$tmp = $item;

with

$tmp = clone($item);

and this will solve this issue. Enjoy!

when about other background colour variations? :)

And about (in the header in the search module) the magnifier image as a clickable icon?

the template works fine, i am not sure why you are having problems. are you running your joomla locally or on the server? make sure its 1.5RC2, also make sure that you extract files correctly. Using WinRar right click on the RedEvo_Aphelion template and select Extract to RedEvo_Aphelion\ this will make sure that files get extracted correctly. Once you do that, simply cut the whole folder and paste it into Templates directory. that should do the trick. Let me know if it works.

Thanks.  I am on a mac.  Stuffit Expander automatically opens the RedEvo_Aphelion zip file and adds the word "FOLDER" to the end.  I did not realize when I uploaded it that the name changed (and this messes everything up).

The template is mostly working. Frontpage loads poperly.  I click on "Article A" from the homepage and it displays Article A on an "article page" (template correct).  But if I use the menu that has article A in it, it displays the list of all the articles in that sections (normal behavior) in the template.  When I try to go to the article in that way, the template is not applied.  RedEvo_Aphelion is the default template across the site.

I do really like this template. I'm sure it will work fine when the final release comes.

Hi... very nice design indeed. Keep up the good work! Do you have a spot for banners?

Mine is working fine. Did you do a clean install of RC3 or did you upgrade from RC2?

after you do a clean install, extract the template again and upload the folder as is. and see if it works. When extracting use WinRAR and make sure you keep your directory structure. let me know, so far It works great for me both Live and on my Local machine.

is anyone else having problems with the template when enabling SEO? When my seo is enabled only first page works, when clicking on faq or news feed, the page no longer has a theme. looks like a wap page. if anyone has a solution for this problem, i would greatly appreciate your help.

Sounds like the template needs updating to include the $baseurl variable...

I think this is my fav template now :) (5 point unity in close second). But I do have a minor issue with the popup hover over the edit link (see pic, and funnily enough had the same issue on 5 point unity)

You just need to add some CSS

Quote:
/* Tooltips */
.tool-tip {
float: left;
background: #ffc;
border: 1px solid #D4D5AA;
padding: 5px;
max-width: 200px;
}

.tool-title {
padding: 0;
margin: 0;
font-size: 100%;
font-weight: bold;
margin-top: -15px;
padding-top: 15px;
padding-bottom: 5px;
background: url(../../system/images/selector-arrow.png) no-repeat;
}

.tool-text {
font-size: 100%;
margin: 0;
}

/* System Standard Messages */
#system-message dd.message ul {
background: #C3D2E5 url(../../images/notice-info.png) 4px center no-repeat;
}

/* System Error Messages */
#system-message dd.error ul {
color: #c00;
background: #E6C0C0 url(../../system/images/notice-alert.png) 4px center no-repeat;
border-top: 3px solid #DE7A7B;
border-bottom: 3px solid #DE7A7B;
}

/* System Notice Messages */
#system-message dd.notice ul {
color: #c00;
background: #EFE7B8 url(../../system/images/notice-note.png) 4px center no-repeat;
border-top: 3px solid #F0DC7E;
border-bottom: 3px solid #F0DC7E;

Thanks very much for your reply. Sorry about getting back to you so late. It's weird because I just did a search and the results come up in the templates too. Could you provide me your website URL so I can have a look?

Also, I'm curious about your screen resolution. Is it bigger than 1024x768?

as just said the template is very interesting even if I'd like to see other colours variations... and if you can make cliackable the magnifier image for the searching module in the header area. I think that image is a little confusing for some people that can click on it without pressing a simple enter  ;)  :laugh:

I'll definately work on other colour variations if I have time.. However I've been really tied up recently  :(
I don't think it's possible to make the magnifier clickable?  ??? Because that's the default Joomla! setting - the search box is without the button by default...  :(

About the Module Positions of the template, please refer to the image below:

Image

Actually the module positions of the template are quite simple, just some basic positions, and I didn't change any default positions for the default modules...

oops, I just did a silly thing and the demo site went down. Hope I'll get it fixed soon :'(

Meanwhile if anybody could give me a clue that'll be very much appreciated! All I did is changing the ' enable SEO friendly URLs' in global settings from 'no' to 'yes', and then the site is down... would anybody please kindly help me out? Thanks very much!

Thanks a lot for your reply.
I'm not able to log back in because no matter what URL I goes to I'll be redirected to http://www.redevo.net/joomla15/installa ... .php  :(

And I just checked. The file is already named htaccess.txt.

There is a simple way, pls find the configuration.php in the root directory. Open it and find (at about line 9 to line 11) the followings:
var $sef = '1';
var $sef_rewrite = '0';
var $sef_suffix = '1';
Change the value from "1" to "0" accordingly and then save this file, that will disable SEF immediately.
